My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
G'day, & stuff.
Just a guy, originally from the bush, Australia (and no, I don't wear Flannel), and still country at heart - I like big spaces, people with interesting vocabulary, I'm into good arguments, craft beers, rugby (Union), good wine & single Malts, and responsibility.
I am people focused, but can turn a spanner as required. I am a rationalist, happy dealing in facts and less comfortable with philosophy that attempts to escape this world & reality. Like a bit of whimsey in my life.

I am active, smart, and literate.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Visiting DC in early September.
I work full time, consultant in an IT kind of way (& I don'/ won't fix your computer).

Was on the path of inward spiral for to many years, broke out a couple of years ago and made a change for the better - inertial is one of the universe's most powerful forces, friction will win in the end.

Helping mates on weekends complete their renovations.
Travel, a fair bit, and just enjoying what life puts in front of me
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Arguing, planning, building (and knocking down) stuff.
Helping mates, listening and not being judgemental (well, unless you want to argue about WoW, or DreamCatchers, or Intelligent Design).

Procrastination also happens here, trolling Renovation Sites when I should be on a shovel.

Reeling back in horror after completing a stoopid personality test (doing it again, and again) stoopid test.

Making Pavlova, and messing up (& cleaning up) a Kitchen (the chocolate cake is not bad, either).

Correcting spelling mistakes 3 days later.
The first things people usually notice about me

I'm tall - 190cm. Used to be very fit and now just fit. Big hands, and big feet.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

My favourite books include Atlas Shrugged, Lord of the Rings and Peopleware, Catch-22. I like SciFi, but as a distraction, not all-consuming (David Weber & John Ringo do figure recently, though). A good textbook works as well. Reading Frank Lloyd Wright's work at the moment.
My movies of choice lately have been 'Man-alone' stuff lately, Daniel Craig's James Bonds - hopefully just a stage I'm going through.. Like the occasional TV series - early West Wing, Band of Brothers, Homeland, Breaking Bad.
My taste in music is a little eclectic - RnB (typically stuff from the 80's though - Marvin, Issac, Sade), Prog Rock (Rush, Yes, Dream Theatre), metal & like a bit of jazz. Like to listen to new stuff as well, Lily Allen, Birds of Tokyo, Muse. Currently have Eric Bibbs, Muse, Radiobirdman & Sade on rotation...
Food - like it all, except for Squash (and brussel sprouts) - and Chillis, lot of chillis
