My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hi. I'm a sci-fi geek working to make sci-fi into reality. Although honestly, the future is already here. I'm constantly amazed how technology has made the world smaller, bringing us closer to the things that matter most—cat videos and Instagrams of breakfast.

But I digress... I'm looking for someone who wants to go to both sci-fi conventions and art galleries, someone who wants to experience both the exciting and the mundane. Above all, I want to meet someone who I can talk to easily and enjoy being with.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I mine data from anonymized health records, building models to improve patient health and reduce medical costs. It's an exciting field to be in: the amount of information being stored electronically is increasing every year, and if managed and used wisely, it has the potential to revolutionize medicine more than penicillin did.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Science, especially biology and computer science. I've got an almost supernatural intuition in those fields, which I prefer to think of as bluffing reality into going along with my hunches.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My height, I guess.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Terry Pratchett, Brandon Sanderson, Harry Potter, The Wheel of Time. Generally, anything science fiction or fantasy.

Movies: Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Lord of the Rings (dirty secret: I never finished the trilogy in book form), Iron Man, Star Wars (original trilogy, of course)

Music: The Who, Led Zeppelin, Journey, Nirvana, Pink, Taylor Swift (she's just so catchy!)

Food: My favorites include Japanese food and Thai food, though I'm not a big fan of Mexican. I enjoy trying new foods.

TV Shows/Anime: Stargate SG-1, Doctor Who, Star Trek, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Cowboy Bebop, Anything by Joss Whedon, The Middleman, Once Upon A Time, Supernatural
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
* My friends and family
* My laptop
* Books
* My glass baking dish
* The ability to count to six
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
* What causes the irregular seasons in Game of Thrones
* How one could travel backward in time while breaking the minimal number of physical laws
* Where all the baby pigeons are
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
The same thing I do every night: Try to take over the world!

...Well, that, or playing board games with friends. One of the two, generally.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have a strong dislike for 1970's architecture. I think Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal said it best: who thought that "brutalist" was the type of public art where people should actually work in every day?
