My self-summary
so goth.
What I’m doing with my life
studied art (drawing/painting), so naturally i work at a grocery store lifting heavy things (but at least it's a co-op).

when i'm not working i'm usually painting (aiming for somewhere between matisse and david hockney's new landscapes if you're curious; whether or not that's happening is.............it's not), or making music (hip hop), or hiking (where i get my inspiration/images that i work from, from).

i also like to enjoy taking bike rides, drinking good coffee (maybe i'm even a little bit of a snob about it), reading (who am i kidding i haven't read in ages! but i keep buying books for some reason), watching a lot of "films".
I’m really good at
THINKING i'm good at: drawing/painting (but half the time i think i suck so i'm hesitant to list this one), dressing well, driving, gazing, photoshop, making a good cup of coffee. one day i hope to be really good at bowling (first step would be cutting out beer, so...i will remain shitty).
The first things people usually notice about me
if i were to assume because that's really all you can do here it's maybe that i'm shy/quiet at first.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
van gogh's letters, the odyssey, michael pollan, john berger, david sedaris, the final speeches of malcolm X, marx, one hundred years of solitude, chaplin's autobiography, things fall apart, a man of the people, watership down, eckhart tolle, the latest national geographic.

filmmakers i heart: jacques tati (favorite), chaplin, buster keaton, jerry lewis, robert bresson, chris marker, f.w. murnau, antonioni, fritz lang, hitchcock, godard, ozu, mizoguchi, howard hawks, john ford.

shows: arrested development, party down, the tim and eric awesome show, home movies, seinfeld, it's always sunny in philadelphia (not lately though; what happened guys?), newsradio, anything with zach galifiniakis, the office uk (and the FIRST FEW seasons of the american version), stella!, michael and michael have issues, louie c.k. (LUV louie c.k.). breaking bad, downton abbey, workaholics, portlandia.

i'm a huge hip-hop fan, mainly new york stuff from the 90s (wu-tang, gangstarr, m.o.p., etc.). i'm also very much into classical music (debussy, ravel, bartok, etc.), jazz (ahmad jamal, bill evans, bobby hutcherson, etc.), old punk rock (X, The Clash, X-Ray Spex, etc.), contemporary indie stuff like Interpol, Broadcast, Neutral Milk Hotel, Air, etc. Honestly though most times i'm either listening to hip hop OR something sad (i don't know...wull i do actually but i'm not gonna explain it here).

food.
The six things I could never do without
i could do without them but i'd be really sad: music, art, my cat, laughter, friends, and coffee.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
art and its place in the now, the inevitable and much needed collapse of capitalism, how i'd like to live in the woods where it's peaceful and pretty, my next meal, aesthetics (this is a big one), how humans are fucking over each other and the planet and how terribly sad it makes me, but also HOW to enjoy life in spite of this.
On a typical Friday night I am
working. going out after or maybe just going home and relaxing with a beer and an episode of whatever i fancy.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
my voice still occasionally cracks?
