Oh, golly. I am looking to meet intelligent, curious, and fun
humans of the male persuasion who can make me laugh, think, and
experience new perspectives on life. I'm open to dates and new
I like eating a lot, seeing movies, live performance, obsessively
reading books about WWII history, and all sorts of other stuff. If
you like these things, too (or perhaps even if you don't), say
I really like to travel, but I don't do it nearly often enough. I
What I’m doing with my life
So far I've spent my entire life refining my own special brand of
angst. Beyond that, I work in marketing for a film company that
releases foreign and independent films and I quite enjoy it for the
most part. I consume things - film, art, music, books. food, and
even entire planets sometimes - but I'd like to channel a bit of my
energy into creating.
I’m really good at
I'm good at tripping, spilling things, walking into walls and into
people. In yiddish, you might call me a klutz.
I'm also pretty great at board games, crosswords, guitar hero, and
lots of other things that are useless in the grand scheme of
things. On the other side, I'm good at listening, I'm good at my
job, and I make a really delicious pumpkin bread. I'm good at other
things, too, but I'd rather let people judge for themselves on
whether I am good at them or not.
The first things people usually notice about me
my laugh? my sneeze? my lasciviously luscious lips? I also have a
pretty unique walk. It's bouncy.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I work as a marketer of movies, so I spend lots of time thinking
about them and seeing them and they're a large part of my life. You
don't need to love them as much as I do, but it would be helpful if
you were somewhat interested and curious about them and were not
completely 100% against sitting in a movie on a sunny day every
once in a while. My movie love is so diverse and that I can't
really list any favorites here. Plus if I list favorite directors
or whatever you'll just think I'm pretentious and you'd be right.
But if you'd like to discuss movies in person, I'd be up for that!
I will tell you that I really love Hitchcock, but who
Music: My musical touchstones are 60s British invasion, post-punk
and new wave, Britpop from the 90s, especially Pulp. I love oldies
from the 50s through the 80s. I'm a big fan of Joy Division. I also
love classical, reggae, some electronic stuff, some pop music, and
all sorts of other things.
Books: Really into historical non-fiction, especially books on WWII
and Post-war Europe. But I also like short stories. James Joyce's
"Dubliners" is probably my favorite book in English
Food: Lobsters, oysters, pretty much all seafood. I like fruit
quite a bit. Oh, and luckily I have a quick metabolism, as I am
crazy about pastries. I could live on nothing but puff pastry and
pie for the rest of my life, I think. You might not know it from
looking at me, but I am extremely passionate about food.
The six things I could never do without
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The End of Days. You might call it "the future."
On a typical Friday night I am
Seeing a movie and getting a drink seems to be my latest habit. By
the end of the week, work has left me emotionally drained, so I
might also be prone to staying inside with a bottle of wine and
being lazy. Wouldn't mind meeting someone who drew me out more
often on Fridays.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have a compulsive underwear buying habit.
You should message me if
you like your men thin and a tad dorky. Also, if you are smart,
witty, fun, spontaneous, open-minded, in possession of a sweet
smile and a pleasant disposition. Cute is nice, too.
You should be someone who says "yes" far more often than you say
Also, if you agree that "Roxanne" is the only even remotely
listenable song that The Police ever recorded and that the movie
American Beauty is a piece of crap.
