August 12, 2015

I was sitting on the square in Gigondas just two weeks ago. The dusky warm evening was tempered by a soft wind and a chilled, rather voluptous rosé . The ancient church bell rang eight times. The last baritone strike faded slowly and floated away toward the Dentelles. It was a good day. I sipped my wine slowly enjoying the luxuriant feeling of having nothing better to do than to be in this moment. Couples were everywhere in the plaza, drinking, eating , talking, some stealing kisses. I thought « what a perfect moment this would have been to share with a lover »

I have thought about that moment many times in the past two weeks and I have tried to conjure the vision of this absent lover coming into my life. She would have beautiful eyes that project her great intelligence and a smile that draws me in. She is social, full of life, successful , independent and confident. She is classy, a great dresser when we go out to dinner or an event, but still appreciates a good hike in the headlands, a ride on our bikes or perhaps even a round of golf. Love of good food and good wine is a must and travel figures into her schedule yearly or more. Like me, she knows great art and we share a passion for it. As a couple we can be hilarious together, passionate , affectionate , social, supportive and honest. And finally, I would hope that some part of her always remains a gentle mystery to me.

I have a lot of interests. Working in my lovely garden, cooking for friends, wine tasting and collecting, drawing from the figure, cycling, golf and of course Art. I enjoy going to museums and galleries and collecting art on a small scale.

I was a single dad for many years and raised a fine young man who is now on his own and married to a wonderful woman. Being a parent profoundly shaped my life view and still is a positive, grounding influence.

As you might deduce I am an artist myself - a professional classical musician and a bit of a poet. I perform with all three of the great orchestras in SF, but the focus of my career is a successful music related business that I have built over 30 years, I have a great life, a wonderful life and good friends. I am looking for a partner who is engaged in a meaningful career, has a complete life of her own and values time to herself as well as sharing quality time together. I am honest and loyal - fidelity a given. I am generous, perhaps to a fault , but I appreciate someone who can also be generous towards me.
