My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
born at an early age, i couldn't feed or take care of myself for the first few years of my life. i sometimes wonder how much has changed.

i'm a dreamer, and typographic designer, but i also love art, photography, contemporary science, writing, acting and eclectic music.
i'm socially chameleonic.
i love conversations, and understanding people by how they articulate their views and opinions.
some days i wish i didn't believe in god.
some days i wish i did.
i think overall, i'm a disorganised perfectionist and a shy extrovert.

(if you dislike the lack of caps, think of it as a house style of calm)

...nei, jeg snakker bare litt norsk.
beklager min norske kjære.
jeg elsker deg, og jeg savner deg hele tiden

I am intelligent, inventive, and insightful
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
currently lead designer for a newspaper.

i live a cerebral, wistfully ambivalent and compassionate existence, doing what i can to connect with and help my friends, while working towards the universal human goal of an easy life.

in the past i've been a meteorologist and a writer, but now i've finally morphed into a typographic designer, after finishing an MA in Book Design.
between you and me, i'd love to get into design teaching - probably at first year Uni level - after a little experience in the industry.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
let see if i can do this bit without sounding like a twat...

i enjoy graphic design, which you have to do to be good at it.
i enjoy discussions, developing ideas, and solving problems.
i've been told i'm good at listening and giving good advice.
i love whistling.
i used to be a good puppeteer, and i'm good at doing accents.
in my distant youth i had a brief, but thoroughly successful, cleptomaniacal phase, which i have since grown out of.
i also enjoy writing and directing plays, but for my sins i havn't done that in a couple of years now, from too much work. i'm quite a good actor, but i do take a long time to learn lines.
i really love playing acoustic guitar; i'm many hours of dedication away from where i'd like to be with it- need to learn better picking.
i love singing too, chorally (bass) or while playing ma geetar, or cooking, or working, and especially while walking at night, if i'm not whistling.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
telepathy would make this easier.
maybe, that i'm blonde, open or intelligent, but i guess my eyes and smile and hopefully my sense of humour.

as far as books, i'm more thinly read than i'd like, except for graphic novels, and random science and design books, but i do want to get back into reading books in a big way, so i'm open to any recommendations. Some authors i admire are Allan Moore (Watchmen), Stephen Fry, Tolkein, Orwell, Ian McEwan, Charlie Brooker, anything by David W Maurer, and ANYTHING by the graphic artist, Chris Ware. Also, any book by the company Pentagram, the Times Dictionary of quotations, and finally Ebenezer Cobham Brewer's 'Dictionary of Phrase and Fable.'

as far as food, i love italian, and i'm a fish and chips connoisseur, but i'm willing to try anything. i love poloni sausage, and pan-fried sweet shallots. not keen on mushrooms or extremely hot stuff, and i like my dishes to have meat in, though i can easily add meat later.

drink isn't on the list but it should be.
i love ice cold flat cream soda, but also perrys and ciders, good wine, and a mix of neat archers and passoa on the rocks, with a hammock.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
...are actually seven:
my mind
close friends
eye contact
my mactop
teh interwebs
ma geetaw
and a warm bed.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
many things.
what i should be doing, or what i might be late for or might have forgotten.
i occupy my mind with imaginings- how things will be, could be, or should be, and why. mostly i just like to give my mind something to do. i'm what they call an information quidnunc. Strange things never happen to me, but strange things do happen to people who say that.
...the rest of my mind and time is dedicated happily to min kjære.

On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
happy its the weekend, and everyone is free from their jobs.
Fabric's always good on a friday, but so is gigging, or enjoying time with wine, films and friends.
i don't go out and get leathered very often, as its expensive and eventually painful. but i can certainly do merry.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
lightning turns me on.
