My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am leaving this profile here in case a birder wants some one to go birding with, but I am not really in a position to devote the time and effort a relationship needs.

I am retired, but not as free as I hoped I would be. I am someone who is only comfortable in small groups( the smaller the better), but would like to have someone to do things with.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Not much now. I was birdwatching around Washington, seeing how many species of birds I could see in a calender year. It was an excuse to explore places that there is no real reason to go look at. I saw 247 species last year. Do you have a better excuse to wander?
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I have never been really good at anything. To be "really good" at something you need to focus on that thing above all others, and I have never been able to do that. I have been good at a number of things, but none have held my interest. There are just too many things in this world to see and try to understand to fixate on one.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
My likes in books and movie have a common theme. They need to have a character that I would like to spend time with if they were real. And please have a happy ending. There just aren't enough happy endings.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Never doesn't work for me, but six things that I am quite fond of (in no particular order) :

Long talks about everything or nothing.
chocolate
my binoculars
road trips
motorcycles (with more road trips)
long walks with someone who still sees the wonder of the world
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Everything. I spend too much time thinking about all the little "what ifs" of history, both the world's history and my own. I am always formulating plots ( story plots, I have given up government plots) for my own entertainment. I sure wish I knew some one who wanted to try writing.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Hard to tell which night is Friday anymore.
