I'm a mother of two and a psychology teacher who loves to analyze people, laugh whenever possible and is currently searching for as many adventures as I can find. I love to try new restaurants and love movies. Netflix has a strange addictive quality. I like quirky movies and independent movies. Even though they are disturbing most of the time, I always go back for more. My favorite ones involve delving into the darkness of man and the decisions we make. Also well written dialogue with obscure literary references are good too. I love books far too much.

I teach psychology and sociology and like to follow research in those fields. I also love politics. I tend to get pretty worked up about various ignorant people in the world (insert fist in the air). I'm currently interested in training for races with and without my kids. Our first 5K is coming fast. I read way too much for anyone's good but I'd be happy to tell you about my latest book. One of my favorite pastimes is reading the book that is being made into a movie.

I like to add things to my Bucket List of things to do. Lately I've been contemplating a Hot Air Balloon Festival and zip lining. Ideally I would chase the Summer around the world and never be cold.

Honestly, I've thought I'd make a horrible beauty pageant contestant for many reasons. I lack talent. I don't play instruments, or sing or paint. I could try to yodel but that wouldn't be good for anyone. I suppose I could analyze the hell out of people. I do find humor in odd places. Oh, I got one, I can bake. Maybe the judges could sit still long enough for me to whip up some cupcakes or stuffed mushrooms. Maybe I could recite the entire movie Princess Bride. Does that count?

I can beat my kids at most board games but I don't think the judges would appreciate the fact I hold back for their sake on occasion.

My constant questioning. I can't help it. I'm very curious about people and if they fit into the theories I have running around in my head. Its been called an "interrogative quality" that I can't turn off. I swear I'm not a cop!

Books: Fight Club, The Doctor's Wife, On the Road, The Great Gatsby, To Kill a Mockingbird, Shutter Island, David Sedaris books, I even read the Shades of Grey books.

Movies: The Departed, Anchorman, Better Off Dead, 13 Going on 30, Say Anything, The Runaways, Stranger Than Fiction, So I Married an Axe Murderer, If Lucy Fell. Personally, I would have my own drive-in screen in my backyard and spend most nights there.

Shows: Seinfeld, The Colbert Report, the Daily Show, Sons of Anarchy, Dark Matters, New Girl, Parenthood. Funny matters a LOT

Music: Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers, Bush, Bob Schneider, Pink, Train, Johnny Cash, Billy Joel, this list could go on forever.

Food: Coffee, Any kind of ethnic food, taking classic favorites and kicking them up in some way, Coffee, healthy stuff (go ahead roll your eyes) and coffee.

Everything. I like the dark and twisty nature of man. I love a good argument. I like to think about people's childhoods and how they were shaped by them. I also like to discuss attraction and why/how certain people are drawn together. I also like to interject movie quotes and song lyrics into my everyday vernacular.

I also like to nickname people in my life. They never have regular names in my phone. My kids and I also rename each other on a regular basis. The more unusual the better. We also like to nickname fictitious pets. "If you had elephant, what would you name it?" That sort of thing. The answer is Rocky by the way.

I'm usually home with my kids watching a movie. On occasion my kids and I will speak in Opera or dance around to pop music (its their favorite, not mine). I'm a goofy mother and I think a sense of humor is vital for their survival in this world. Lately I've been working our way through classic movies for them. After Goonies and E.T. I started them on Hitchcock.

I love to go see live music and anything by U of A or downtown is great fun. UA Basketball is my favorite. I enjoy trash talking any other team but mostly California teams and ASU.

I'm a little claustrophobic. Don't even get me started on that movie "Buried" with Ryan Reynolds.

I like to speak in an English accent after watching any Harry Potter movie. Alright, I do it even when Harry is not on.
