My self-summary
I'm awesome. Like seriously and absolutely. I sing karaoke well (most of the time), am not afraid to climb into a drainpipe (there might be treasure at the other end!), and wonder why science hasn't just hybridized ninjas and pirates to end the whole silly debate (probably because zombies overshadowed them all).

I went to Florida this summer for the launch of NASA's Shuttle Atlantis. It was amazing. I got to ask an astronaut if he was totally bummed about never getting shot off in a rocket the same way I'm going to be bummed about not getting a chance at the shuttle.

I'm a WW2 reenactor. Yeah... All the nerdy shit that hobby brings with it. I promise I won't bore you with stories of the Maginot Line. Unless you liked that one scene in The Major and the Minor. Then we can discuss it all night long.

What I’m doing with my life
Herman Miller ist meine liebe. Lieben zu Ray und Charles Eames.

I'm going to be a well-trained desk jockey after I finish my degree in Conservation and Preservation. I'm going to analyze all those awesome myspace pics you're taking with your cameraphone, determine the cultural significance, and keep them safe for years to come. (That means, "I'm still in school, kid.")

In class this semester, we're creating a brain for the upcoming "Brain Extravaganza". I'm really stoked. My class is a good group and I'm optimistic that it's going to turn out great.

I’m really good at
Nicht Deutsch. ;)

Photography, riding motorscooters, singing karaoke, flying planes, cutting hair, and doing makeup.

Seriously, I'm wicked good at doing hair. I cut my own and it looks great.

The first things people usually notice about me
Ya know what? I don't know. People usually mention my clothes, "The first time I met you, you were wearing..." but I don't see my clothes as unusual in any way.

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I'm more of a fan of science fact than science fiction. Lately, I've been reading the trade publications since I've returned to the salon life after a 2 year absence.
I think Inglorious Basterds is the funniest, most well made movie in a long time (if you happen to look like Daniel Bruhl, don't worry about the rest of this profile... I'll find a way to make us work ;). ) I love most every James Bond flick but love the Ian Fleming novels much more.
I listen to and sing pop music from the 60's. I'm saving up for a jukebox mostly as a place to store all my 45's. I (try to) swing dance and enjoy that style of music too. I finally saw the Squirrel Nut Zippers this spring after a 10 year saga of trying.
I like most food... A lot. I had a pretty nasty injury and couldn't play sports anymore but kept up my same eating habits. I've had to change my diet in a pretty drastic way because I was creeping up to 200 pounds. I'm far from fit now, but working on it. Just don't try to get me to eat fish or octopusses. I won't.

It seems lists work best, so:

Books -
Ian Fleming's James Bond Novels, Devil in the White City, 1939 Herman Miller Catalogue, Ps and Qs, The Colour Kittens, The Great and Secret Show
I just bought "7 Stories by H.G. Wells" from Barnes and Noble. I figure that I'll learn better time travel by reading about others' mistakes. Kinda like game tapes. Wasn't H.G. Wells a cousin marrying eugenicist? Oh well, can't knock them all out of the park.
I have a great love for books produced before 1950. The paper smells so good and I like the way it feels in my hand. I have just read a collection of poems called "Pack up Your Troubles...". On a big vintage catalogue kick right now. Thinking of the past world and how pretty it looked.

Movies -
Inglourious Basterds, On Silent Wings, Memphis Belle, The Rocketeer, The Wizard of Oz, Stepbrothers, Edward Scissorhands, Eyes Without a Face, Metropolis, Nosferatu, Dr. Strangelove, movies based on comic book heroes (LOVED Capt. America!!), Asian horror films, Hard Day's Night, the silent Phantom of the Opera, Teenagers from Outer Space, Rear Window
On the TV, I like Twilight Zone, Parks and Recreation (but I think you need to be from Indiana to really get it), Hell's Kitchen... That's about it. The only reality shows I like are about horribly destructive behaviour like hoarding and drug addiction.

Music -
Smashing Pumpkins, Glenn Miller, Lawrence Welk, Squirrel Nut Zippers, ABBA, KISS, Cher, The Who, The Beatles, Petula Clark, The Hollies, My Chemical Romance, Murder By Death

Food -
I don't eat things that are smarter than me. That leaves two options... a) work hard and get smarter than octopusses or b) don't eat octopusses.
I don't drink a lot. I prefer cocktails to beer. I like to drive myself home at the end of the night.
I also don't dig seafood in general. Some sushi is good, but "sushi" in the category that people who actually eat sushi make fun of. Seriously, I've seen a tilapia. You can't get me to put that ugly S.O.B. in my mouth.

The six things I could never do without
Besides the obvious of respiration, nutrition intake, excretion....?

These women:

Seriously though, I don't have a phone, I don't have a car, I own like 4 outfits and none of those are particularly fashionable.
I am pretty tied to the internet (as much as I hate being so) and do kinda miss not having mobile facebook.

UPDATE:
Now I've got one of them smart phones. So not only do I have mobile Facebook, I've got mobile everything. I'm trying to learn how to be one of "those people". I taught myself how to tweetpic from the Dr while he was writing a scrip for my sinus infection (yeah, I got it too).

Still not particularly fashionable though.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
Time travel.

I believe I am a time traveler. I think the things I surround myself with now are things that I once owned already in the past. I can't explain it. I just know that I honestly, hand on Bible, believe that some day in the not to distant reaches of our linear future I will go back in time.

No. Really.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I can't figure out if "activity partners" on here means "looking for someone to sort baseball cards with" or "looking for someone to 'sort baseball cards' with".

I’m looking for
  • Guys who like girls
  • Ages 20-35
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends
You should message me if
you're a mod. Or a rocker. Or can hang with the fact I'm a mocker.

Seriously, if you want to message me please do. I'm not one of those "ew creepy guys on OkC" kinda people. I respond to any message I get - even if I think you're creepy. Maybe moreso if you are.
