I'm not scared of blending in but I'm terrified of being dull. Let's face it, as much as we would like to pretend that we are all unique, deep down we are all very much the same. We are made of the same fibers. I could go on about how I love long walks on the beach, nights cuddled on the couch watching a movie, and going out with friends but who doesn't like all of those things? I could say I'm laid-back and sarcastic because I am, but whose profile doesn't say something grossly similar?

Things that I can say... I am a nurse and I love my profession. My patients make me laugh, cry, curse, and appreciate. I wouldn't have it any other way. I love being outside and soaking up all that mother nature has to offer. I often hike in sundresses. I love people but I am usually skeptical of them before liking them, which is one of my many flaws. I don't smile constantly because I had braces for seven years and got accustomed to hiding my teeth, so if you can make me smile or laugh then I know you are good people. I embrace education but recognize that academia is just one route among many paths that we can take in life. Some of the most brilliant people I know didn't go to college or even finish high school for that matter. My life will be a journey of trying to better myself and knowing that there is always much room for improvement and growth. I don't think anyone (minus maybe the Dalai Lama and I'm still not sure on that one) ever truly reaches self- actualization.

I'm originally from the South and I embrace my roots. Sometimes I still say y'all...

I would consider myself a lifetime learner. I am half- way there in figuring out what I want to do when I grow up, but I have an insatiable hunger to learn more and grow. I am currently working as a nurse with grumpy old men (and a few women) whom I completely adore. I absolutely love my job and look forward to going to work everyday.

I just moved to Providence so I am trying to meet new people and get established in the Boston metro area. Aside from work, I do a good deal of volunteering. I work mostly with survivors of sexual assault but also try to volunteer my time as a nurse when possible.

Remembering numbers... from phone numbers, to birthdays, to dates of historical significance, or even license plates. It's a savant- like quality of mine.

People often comment on my glasses, whether that's the first thing they notice, I'm not sure.
