My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hey! My name is Annika pronounced On-i-ka (like monica with a silent"m") hence the username turnmeannika haha. But don't get too excited- it was the only thing I could think of that wasn't taken and I wasn't about to take the suggested "Annikasaurus" username. I've never done a dating site before but I moved to Chicago about a year ago so I thought it would be fun. If I meet you and you're super creepy let me just warn you-- my ninja skills....well my ninja skills suck but I can do some pretty potent damage with a fork. Just saying. I'm not going to say too much else because then we would have nothing to talk about and we could run into some of those long awkward silences so just go ahead--message me and ask away!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
If anyone figures it out- let me know because I'm pretty clueless.
Oh...it means like a job? I'm a flight attendant. If you like mini pretzels then I'm sure we'll get along.
I love traveling, I love languages and I love meeting people from other countries so I gear my life towards furthering those things. I really would like to learn Arabic so if you can teach me, holla atta playa yo. I've been trying but every time I find a tutor I either move or they move. It's like a curse....
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
laughing at myself and accruing freckles. Seriously I think real-estate was cheap on my face and they all decided to settle down there. And then have children. And then the in-laws came and moved in down the street. Although that's mostly in the summer. Apparently a lot of my freckles are somewhat affluent and have summer homes somewhere else in the winter.

I'm not really sure....My glowing personality? Haha- You tell me!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Empires of Sand, The Power of One, Lamb, The Phantom Tollbooth, Harry Potter, Ironfire, Ugly Americans, Anything by Carl Haissen or Roald Dahl, Tin Tin comics, Calvin and Hobbes, Powers of 10.....really there are too many to count. I never had a TV growing up so books were my main staple for indoor entertainment. If you really like something, suggest it! I love hearing about new books.
I like action, comedy, french and mystery movies. Hate horror and gore (shudder). I'm a chick so chick flicks are in there as well. (I hope this has put your mind at ease that I'm not some middle age balding man. I just saw that catfish show on TV the other day and am highly amused/ slightly horrified...okay a lot horrified, what exactly did I sign myself up for??)
Food...um..yes please? All of the above?
Music- can't live without it and I love pretty much everything. Not so much punk, heavy metal or ska but most everything else and I'll groove right along. Sometimes I find myself awkwardly walk/dancing down the street.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
You mean they can't all be coffee and sleep? Alright, off the top of my head: Coffee, sleep, family, friends, music aaaaaand probably heat. I swear, our heat was off for like three days when I first moved to chicago- I think I was wearing almost every piece of clothing I own and I refused to open the fridge. I was like the Michelin Man rolling around the apartment. Also I got one of those electrically heated blankets which means I've now developed this innate fear that it is going to catch on fire while I'm sleeping and make a nice little Annika Roast- Annika Roast- the other white meat. It was a bit of a scarring experience.
Wait wait wait- am I allowed to have 7? Can I break the rules that way? Because unfortunately I could never do without my phone. I always thought I was pretty free from the shackles of technology. That was before I lost my phone for a week. I had no alarm, I couldn't navigate anywhere, I didn't know how to contact anyone but my childhood house phone number....it's a cold cold dark world out there without a phone, I know that now.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Where I put my keys.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Out on the town. Or flying around in a plane. It could go either way.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
So sometimes( not often) I do several loads of laundry and instead of folding it right away like a real adult I just pile it on my bed so that I can do it all at once. Which I inevitably don't because I either get distracted or decide I've put in enough work for the afternoon and I get on with life. Then when faced with the giant laundry pile at bedtime I just kind of burrow under it and consider it an extra layer of warmth for a day or two. Okay it happens often. Don't judge me.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You follow these simple rules:
1) you want to
2) you are literate
3) you aren't thinking in your head, "Hey you know what will thrill this girl's mind and make her really want to write back....if I write "Hey" or "what's up" instead of a question or some response to her profile. That should give her loads of things to say back!" No.
