My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I've thrown away return flights for adventure's sake, launched into a serenade in a crowded bar, and watched shooting stars while flames burst from the rocks around us. I love moving my body, on the trail, in the open water, on the road, in the desert, laughing with friends over a meal, and training the young jedi my sisters have added to the family.

I've traveled east to Palmyra and west to Kashmir. I have lived on the east coast, midwest, and west coast. I've performed on stage. I like creating software and art.

I sing in the shower and am an easy sleeper. I'm a computer scientist who likes sweet potatoes, kale, and a good burrito from Taqueria Cancun. I own a piano, and have friends who can play it. An uncle many times over, I hope my nieces and nephews inherit a world of opportunity and joy.

My family and friends would describe me as an upbeat, smart, positive, kind, adventurous, sexy man. (Okay, my family might not use that last adjective.)
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Meeting people and remembering them.

People usually hear me coming, often from my laugh, or perhaps I'm singing to myself, or, well, my voice can carry. See also: tall.

Like any self-respecting bleeding-heart liberal, I consume the New York Times and the New Yorker regularly. Recently read: The Sense of an Ending, 1Q84, The Orphan-Keeper's Son, Ready Player One.

I loved both Paul McCartney and Nine Inch Nails at last year's Outside Lands. I like to work to Steve Reich and Arvo Part. I like what I sing, usually from opera, lieder, and old-school musicals. And what I dance to at BRC. My back catalog has plenty of LZ and prog rock. I like the current descendants of prog, e.g., M83, Sirius XMU.

I'm somehow always behind on movies and really behind on TV. There have been a few guy movie nights but I won't embarrass myself by naming the films. I'd go to the movies with you, though!

We have great local arts! SF Playhouse, the Marsh, ODC, Berkeley Rep, the symphony, the operaaaaa!
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
my family, cousins, nieces, and nephews
the physicality of singing, athletics, and sex
the spirituality of singing, athletics, and sex
the joy of creation in engineering and art
the experience of the wider world
the steep part of the curve
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How to be challenged and make a difference in my work. How to be present in my life. How to be open and intentional in love. How to make changes in a mindful way. How to build a life relationship. Is that TMI for an online profile?
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

A year ago I fell in love with dental floss.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You bring a liberal arts spirit to your life. You are positive and outgoing. You feel sexy and smart. You accept yourself for who you are. You like to roll around in the sand, even down to the water's edge and in.
