I am , I was, I will be, and I like to be.

My Self-Summary

I am funny. I am well spoken. I can write well. I have very high self esteem. I am very clever and intelligent. I am very attractive. I am good at everything I do. There is nothing but perfection permeating my person.

I got out of the navy three years ago after being in for 8 years. Then I finished a BA in English Lit. Now I'm teaching English in Korea and working on my English MA. I've decided after this year to teach high school in America during the school year and sail the Caribbean during the summer.

What I’m doing with my life

Teaching in Busan, contemplating my future life (sailing the world full-time or just part-time while teaching 9 months out of the year?), paying off credit cards, and procrastinating doing my homework.

I’m really good at

Participating in classes. Figuring out how things work, and trying to make them better. Being sarcastic. Being very goofy. Thinking my own jokes are hilarious (when they're usually borderline horrible).

The first things people usually notice about me

I'm nice. (and perfect.)

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: A Thousand Splendid Suns, The Pickwick Papers, Slaughterhouse Five, A Red Death, Brave New World, Nine Stories, Momo, The Pearl, The Old Man and the Sea.

Movies: Memoirs of a Geisha, National Treasure, Uptown Girls (that "Molly Smiles" song gets me every time), Ice Age (all), The Lion King, O Brother Where Art Thou, Roman Holiday (Audrey Hepburn....rowr), Indiana Jones 1-3 (seriously, should Crystal Skull even count?), The Simpsons Movie.

Music: anything i can learn on guitar (don't get your hopes up, I'm not good). Actually, I can get into pretty much any music. The mood sets the tune.

Food: sushi or samgyeupsal or steak or bacon (google turbaconducken for a tasty treat) or mashed potatoes or rutabagas or asparagus or bacon-wrapped scallops or muesli or poke (a hawaiian raw fish dish) or lau-lau or Kalua pig (I lived in Hawaii 3 years).

The six things I could never do without

Friends. Family. Other cultures. Books. Vacation. Wind in my sail.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

how there is no future, there is no past, so live this moment as your last.

On a typical Friday night I am

the statement is complete. on a friday night, i am.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

One of my earliest memories is being pushed down in a mud puddle while wearing my favorite sweatshirt that had an embroidered zebra on it that my grandmother made for me. The mud stained the elbows, I couldn't wear it anymore, and I was so embarrassed that I got pushed down I buried the sweatshirt way down in the bottom of my dresser.

You should message me if

you've been around the world and you, you, you, you can't find your baby.
