My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm not the most extroverted guy, but I really enjoy getting out regularly to do things. I especially like cultural events such as art crawls, street festivals, bands performing, visiting the botanical gardens during their seasonal festivals.

I'm kind of a geek. I like genre movies and genre tv shows a lot. I even spend time recreating film props for fun. It's an interesting hobby and it means I'm pretty good with power tools.

I'd say I'm most interested in a long-term relationship. I'd really like someone there to share the good times with. Are you interested in meeting up and finding out if we have chemistry between us?
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
My work provides for me, but I don't want it to define me. I want to develop an idea for a restaurant. I have a creative impulse dying to get out.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm very talented at creating sumptuous vegetarian food. I've been at it for twenty years. I can make some really delicious meals that are good for you and leave you craving more. I can cook all kinds of ethnic cuisine and have a talent for recreating anything I taste. If you try my cooking, I can guarantee you won't be disappointed. I really enjoy cooking for others. After all, food is love.

I'm more likely to read a comic book, diet lifestyle book or text book than fiction these days... Though I've read lots of Stephen King, Clive Barker, J. R. R. Tolkien, Philip K. Dick, Douglas Adams, Ray Bradbury, Arthur C. Clark, Robert A. Heinlein, H. P. Lovecraft, Kurt Vonnegut, Jules Verne and Frank Herbert. I recently plowed through quite the number of classics by the likes of Nathaniel Hawthorne, Edgar Allan Poe, Mary Shelley, Bram Stoker, H. G. Wells and Robert Louis Stevenson.

I like to get out of the house to see a lot of local and traveling bands. Mostly rock and roll... According to iTunes, I have punk and metal of various types, surf, reggae, garage, grunge, classic rock, hard rock, progressive rock, psychobilly, rockabilly, rhythm and blues, soul, etc.

I enjoy movies quite a bit too. I'd say on average I catch about a movie a week at the theater, unless a film festival is in town. I like to head out for an independent, foreign or repertory movie as much as the new blockbuster. Recently, I enjoyed getting out to see two classic silent films with live musical accompaniment. I am kind of particular about what movies to see to an extent and I think I have a gift for which movies to avoid outright. I only enjoy comedies in the company of others and don't enjoy seeing them alone. They're just more fun when you have someone to share the laughter with. I enjoy a well told horror film. I'm a sucker for science fiction, though the good ones are few and far between. I support local independent cinema and film festivals.

When it comes to television shows, many of my favorites have recently concluded, like Breaking Bad and Fringe. I really enjoyed the mid-season finale of Walking Dead and I like Doctor Who.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
These things are important to me:
My dog
Catching the occasional bands playing at a local venue
Eating Vegetarian
In all honesty, a television
The company of others
Someone to love
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
likely to catch bands playing at a local show, go see a new movie that's opening or go out with friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

Why don't we share these kind of details once we get to know each other better? We can start learning about each other over a tasty beverage or maybe dinner. Better yet, how about we get outdoors and go for a walk around the lake or through the park.
