I am scientific, philosophical, and insane.

My Self-Summary

What do you write about yourself in a place like this that doesn't make you come across as a pathologic lier or a total nutter? Albeit the second choice does describe me rather well, but as a person who enjoys writing fiction in his spare time it does seem all too natural for me to embellish my words with pretty phrases and extravagant words...such as extravagant...

In more...simplistic...terms, I am a 22 year old medical student with a penchant for doing whatever I like and not bothering to care what others may think. Consequently I tend to find myself on the outskirts of society somewhere between the radical ecofeminists and the paranoid schizophrenics...and I enjoy every minute of it.

I have a bad habit of caring too much for other people and tend to wind up getting myself hurt, but I don't complain because I would much rather find myself hurt from caring too much than find myself simply not caring at all. I know that my particular views on life are far beyond what can ever be accepted in this day and age, and from time to time it can be a bit depressing to realize that I can't save the world, but I do what I can with what I have and hope to make a difference for those who I meet.

All in all, I'm a bit of a nut but most people I meet tell me that I'm a good guy with a good heart and a brilliant (if extraordinarily geeky) mind that seems to permanently be set on "hopeful future". I tend to be a realist, in terms of philosophies on life, and recognize that everything has a possibility of happening so it should never be ruled out until all the facts are in. Wit h that in mind, I tend to tell you exactly what I think...even if you don't want to hear it, but I'm often told it's what you need to hear in the end.

So, I'm what you get when you take a nerd, a religious scholar, a philosopher, a medical doctor, a researcher, a small child, and a mentally deranged street-walker and mash them all together into one person...hmm...maybe that's why I rarely get a date...who wants to date 7 people at once?...

What I’m doing with my life

I've recently graduated from my undergraduate institution with a Bachelors of Science in Biology and a Bachelors of Arts in Religious Studies and now I'm attending medical school where I'm bouncing back and forth the idea of being a family practitioner and being a pediatrician.

I’m really good at

A lot of things...or so I'm told.

I've made it all the way to medical school so I suppose I've got some brains in my head somewhere, and I've held my own with some of the best religious and philosophical scholars out there (though I always lose in the end) so I suppose that aids that point.

I've been writing poetry and fiction for years now and people tend to praise it though I often think it's crap. I do, eventually, want to try and find the time to actually write a book at some point. Most likely a young adult book...teenagers will read anything. I should know, I was one once...I think...

The first things people usually notice about me

That would have to be either the four foot long hair or my snakebite lip piercings. I enjoy both of them immensely.

Or if I'm not wearing pants...then I suppose it would be the fact that I'm not wearing pants...though that's never happened before...

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

This could take awhile...

Books: Fantasy and Sci-fi mostly, I've been through the Harry Potter books, everything ever written by Terry Brooks and Garth Nix. A large portion of my collection is actually Manga and a good chunk of that is Yaoi (if you actually understood that last sentence then you either love them, hate them, or spend way too much time on the internet). There is also my collection of Biology, Chemistry, Religion, and Philosophy texts/books. Many of them were for classes, but the last two categories I tend to read just for fun. I'm still working on expanding my "Gay fiction" category, though, so if anyone has any suggestions I'm wide open.

Movies: Give me a movie and I'll most likely watch it with you. Here is a small selection of some of my current favorites, though.
-Appleseed
-Harry Potter
-Howl's Moving Castle
-Read or Die
-V for Vendetta
-Hairspray
-Into the Woods
-The Lord of the Rings
-X-men
-TransAmerica

Music: -Just about anything, so long as it isn't rap...recently I've found myself on a solid diet of music that you would most likely hear in the dark and overly messy room of some teenage boy who dyes his hair black and likes to wear it shoulder length but with most of it covering his face while he cuts himself. Not that I do any of those things...I actually prefer for my room to be rather immaculate. But that does mean I'm listening to a lot of My Chemical Romance, The Killers, Kill Hannah, Fall Out Boy and the like recently.

Food: -Try for Italian and you'll probably win. -I also REALLY like broccoli

I'm going to end this now before it gets out of control...

The six things I could never do without

1. My Mother 2. My friends 3. My books 4. Intelligent conversation 5. My dreams 6. Dr. Who

I spend a lot of time thinking about

things that aren't real...

A lot of my spare "Just sit here and think moments" which tend to fall in between the "Must do schoolwork" and "What should I be doing now" moments involves plotlines for future stories or books despite the fact that I don't have the time to actually write them at the moment. I like to pull inspiration from just about everything so that's where my mind tends to be.

Otherwise I'm probably thinking about you...naked...

On a typical Friday night I am

Fridays I'm studying...that's a given...

Saturdays, though, I like to try and make it to the bar and hang out with some of my new friends while I try to forget that the hypodermis is not part of the integument or that chondrocytes are found inside lacune in the extracellular matrix...

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

It's difficult to think of a private thing when I tend to just answer whatever questions are asked. It might be more beneficial for you to just ask, rather than have me try to think of something to write down here that no one else has heard before.

I will warn you, though, that I tend to be rather blunt. You probably shouldn't ask a question if there's a good possibility that the truth is an answer you don't want.

You should message me if

You're human...

Otherwise, if you're not a cannibal, you like to talk nerdy or at least at a level above Neanderthal, and you're not so young as to get me in serious trouble with the police then I'm all game...normally...
