I am really good at being silly and am usually completely relaxed and easy-going, but I can also focus and be serious when it’s time for that. In some ways I'm very spontaneous, and in others, I am a thorough planner.
I am extremely loyal (to people, businesses, sports teams, etc.) and very genuine. When I tell someone "It's nice to see you again" or I compliment someone, you can be sure it is 100% sincere.
Travel is a huge priority in my life. I am constantly thinking about where I want to go and how I can get there. I have been to 33 states and 26 countries (mostly Europe) with no plans to let up. Travel is pretty much a basic need for me, just like food and shelter. Whether it’s a weekend road trip or going to Europe for two weeks with a train pass and no plans, I love the adventure.
I am originally from the L.A. area, but have also lived in Washington state for several years and Hungary for one school year. I love most things about living in the northwest. I love being around nature (especially forests) and I am fascinated by storms. I love driving in the rain, too!
Being outdoors and in nature is very important to me. I love running. I also love hiking, camping, playing Frisbee or catch at the park, and just wandering and exploring with my camera. I also do yoga and TRX at a local studio. I am a huge baseball fan and I’m also really into some college sports – especially women’s basketball and women’s soccer.
I really love learning new things – maybe that’s how I ended up in the classroom. For example, I love listening to educational podcasts (like Radiolab and 99% Invisible), I think TED talks are awesome, sometimes I do online university courses for fun, and I will actually open a dictionary when I read a word I don’t know.
Finally, I should point out that I have been married once, for most of my post-college life ... just so there are no surprises.
