Hiya! I'm Tom. I like to write, play guitar, and sing alt-rock classics loudly
and badly. I enjoy the simple things in life. I'm a dreamer. I'm
not in a hurry to grow up. I'm smart and passionate, agreeable yet
quirky. I have an outlandish sense of humor and I gravitate toward funny, lighthearted people. I'm chained to
a computer for
work-related purposes. More than anything, I'd like to become a
published author someday.
What I’m doing with my life
What I do is discover things. Life is a mystery that ought to be
explored, so I spend a lot of time looking around in wonder saying
"wow that's cool," and "neato!" I'm easily distracted by shiny
objects, robots, and any machine that shoots lasers or plays music.
I have a bachelor's degree in computer science. I work for a
software startup. Yes, now your suspicions are confirmed: I am a
nerd.
I’m really good at
I'm good at making people laugh at me, and sometimes with me. I'm a
good listener and a good friend.
I'm semi-creative and although I'll never be like Faulkner, I'm a decent writer. I'm also handy with a screwdriver and socket wrench in case you need your RAM upgraded or your oil changed.

I can be a little shy at times, so I'm not easy to get at first
glance. People usually know me to be personable, agreeable,
articulate, and when the situation calls for it, brave.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I prefer light and funny books, like Breakfast of Champions--that
book made me laugh out loud repeatedly. I also like classics such
as Catch 22, The Picture of Dorian Gray, The Catcher in The Rye,
The Hobbit, 1984...
As far as movies are concerned, I like surreal or comedic, preferably both. I'm a huge fan of directors Terry Gilliam (Brazil), Jean-Pierre Jeunet (Amelie), Tim Burton (Beetlejuice), and David Cronenberg (Existenz).
Music: I can't live without it. My tastes vary from year to year. Right now I'm loving alt rock, post-punk, trip-hop, and industrial lately. Joy Division, Skinny Puppy, Bjork, Nine Inch Nails, Clan of Xymox, Jesus and Mary Chain, Stone Roses, Nirvana, Alice in Chains. Trust me, I could go on...

The six things I could never do without
Friends and family first and foremost. Also, lately I'm stuck to my
guitar. I also have a notebook with me constantly. (You never know
when inspiration will strike.) I'd also have trouble living without
Mexican food. Oh... and coffee!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I'm a bit of a dreamer. During downtime when I'm just by myself I
think about life, love, music, food, and our daunting yet amazing
planet.
And I could really go for some waffles or something right about now, couldn't you?

I'm easily amused and just like simple fun. On your average Friday
night I'm usually kickin' it old school with my pals, either at
home or out on the town. Nothing beats solving all the world's
problems from behind a beer or two. I'm prone to restlessness, so I
like having someone drag me out of the house on the spur of the
moment.
