I'm a lawyer who litigates issues involving the activities of securities brokers.
I enjoy learning new things and laughing and occasional disagreement. I did a bunch standup comedy shows and am happy to report that I found my favorite hobby. I prefer people and things that are engaging.
I like knowing about what's going on in the world (politically, culturally and other adverbs) and I probably have an opinion and/or a joke about it.
Nothing turns me on more than funny, engaging and substantive conversation. I want to hear about your thoughts and I want you indulge me when I tell you about mine.
TV: Game of Thrones, Broad City, The Wire, Peaky Blinders Mad Men, Daily Show, Always Sunny, Workaholics, Game of Thrones Legit, 30 Rock, Happy Endings, New Girl, The League, Scrubs. No Reservations. Basically most of the stuff you watch.
Movies: Pretty much anything with Edward Norton or Jason Statham. Also, The Lives of Others, Annie Hall, Old School, Defiance, Coming to America, Up In The Air and Get Him to the Greek are some movies that I enjoyed not so recently.
Books: War and Peace, Anna Karenina, Game of Thrones (pretty open about my obsession with Game of Thrones), The Unbearable Lightness of Being, Tropic of Cancer, Portrait of Dorian Gray, All the King's Men, Fountainhead, The Young Lions, The Firm, American Psycho, Crime and Punishment, For Whom the Bell Tolls, The Compromise, Child 44, Game Change, The Big Short. Attempting to get going with Infinite Jest right now...I'll keep you posted. I've gotten into reading history recently too.
Music: At this point, you might have been hoping that we'd be into the same obscure band and that maybe we'd bond over how unappreciated they are and then we'd live happy ever after or what not. That would have been amazing, really. But it's probably not going to happen because I generally listen to music that is so mainstream that it becomes hardcore. I enjoy hip hop, pop and a bunch of music from the 60's. For instance, The Beatles, Sam Cook and Creedence Clearwater Revival are on my list. So Drake, Eminem, Slaughterhouse, Tov Lo, Robyn, the Black Keys and The Weeknd.
If you think the Stones are better than the Beatles, I doubt this is gonna work.
Food: I'm not a foodie but I am happy to consume and learn about good food. I'm even a decent cook when I set my mind to it.
