I just realized I am holding a dog in all of my photos and wearing sunglasses in two of them. It's not unusual to catch me doing either, but I'll try to find a different photo.

I work for a bank and serve on the board of a local nonprofit.

Me: my parents gave me the exact same name as the daughter of my dad's college roommate.
Friend: so you have an evil twin with the same name?
Me: how do you know I'm not the evil twin?
Friend: you're not really good or evil. You're the malcontent.

Other people say I dress well and have a nice smile. Who am I to disagree?

Books: I own a lot of books, which can bother the wrong type of person. I have a degree in English and tend to prefer "literature," but not always. Currently rereading Lolita.

Movies: I like old movies. Black and white: good, silent: better, foreign with subtitles: best. I also love Wet Hot American Summer.

TV: Downton Abbey, Parks and Recreation, Sherlock. Working my way through Justified and Deadwood. I'll be your friend if you can tell me what these shows have in common.

Music: I'm a music nerd unless I'm around "real" music nerds. I like a very specific selection of everything.

Practical things that probably won't get done until next week.

With people I like.

This is hard for me, but meeting great people is worth it.

You're a mensch. Or if you just know what a mensch is.

If you're an intelligent, kind individual who likes food and discussion and connecting over stupid coincidences. If you care about the world and people in it. If you read Mother Jones, the Atlantic, or the AV Club. If you're a feminist. If you want someone to watch British sitcoms with in bed. If you love animals. If you're genuinely open to the possibility of coming to know and care about another person, even if s/he doesn't end up being me.

Or if you just want to have fun.
