My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
...A sapeophillic, non-monogamous, introverted, subjective, technophilic, geeky/nerdy infovore. Where exactly I fall on the geek/nerd spectrum is up for some debate.

I was raised by an Anglophilic business lawyer and a university departmental chair who secretly longed to be an anthropologist. This equates roughly to a love for British entertainment and a love for road-trips.

Well-crafted, data-rich infographics make me a little giddy. I have an appreciation for the gestalt. I like to challenge people's strongly held beliefs, even if they're also my own. The idea of downloading a massive library of information into my brain both excites and scares me. I like to read aloud to others, occasionally adding dramatic tonality where it may not have been intended.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Pining for the fjords.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
recalling random bits of pop-culture trivia
analyzing behavioral patterns in social media data
talking back to voice-recognition phone systems
organizing dusty storage containers
being snarky...
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My height.
My smirk.

Guilty pleasures: Terry Pratchett, Christopher Moore, Neal Stephenson, Cory Doctorow, Ben Bova, Neil Gaiman, Chuck Palahniuk, Salman Rushdie, Malcom Gladwell, Michael Pollan, Pema Chodron, Gore Vidal, Haruki Murikami, random bits of smut...

Movies & TV: analysis is incomplete and inconsistent...

Food: I do what I can to be a "conscious omnivore," though I've been known to allow for some fast food during road trips. I was raised in the south, so I tend to cook "big pot" meals. However, I dislike cooking for just myself, so I'll admit to being a little rusty as of late.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
access to undeveloped nature (even if I don't use it often)
clean air
human contact
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Humans and the weird shit they do: politics, economics, language, technology, ecology, systems, metaphors, human nature...
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I reject this notion of "typical." Feh!
