My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Just to make things clear, first and foremost: I'm not a vegetarian-reggae-peace-lover-hippie wannabe, who spends his days smoking weed and meditating about useless topics. That's very, very far from the truth.

I’m an idealist, but full of contradictions.

I know loads of people, and to talk great numbers often, but I've got a small number of close friends, by option. I love people, especially those who want more out of life, but I’m very independent and enjoy being alone.

I'm lazy, but a perfectionist.. I don't do much, as I have a great ability to work under extreme stress, but when I finally do it, I do it perfectly.

I am very open minded, but I have very fixed ideals. I do know what I like, or not - and that's in pretty much everything. Be who you are, be proud of it and enjoy it. I won't judge you, no matter how different we may be, what you do is your own business, and I will be happy to talk to you and to learn from you.

I am unlike anyone else you've met, and if we get to talk you'll quickly understand what I mean. I have no safety net. I do the unthinkable. I am a guy of action, that goes after what he wants. I have lived in 8 countries, had countless jobs, never stopped studying, travelled around the world, done most of the things that I've wanted to do in life. I do not like routines or doing things just because we 'have' to. I have no intention of slowing down, as I still have much I want to do, in life. I am not going to be an old grumpy guy complaining about how much he’s missed out on and of how his life has been a waste – I will instead reminisce about all the amazing things I’ve done.

I am opinionated, I like to question people, and I believe the best thing about human contact is that we can push each other to become even better, to fly even higher. I won't say 'well done' just to be nice, I will instead do what I can for things to be even better. I will be soft when I have to, hard when I have to, but always with an open heart and open mind. I appreciate honesty, and wish others can be very open and very honest, as well.

I do know what I'm worth, and who I am. I have no problem with what anyone may think of me, in whatever way. I hate stereotypes, and pre-conceived ideas. I dislike fashion, and people who follow the latest trends. Every single person is unique, and should act that way. Expressing yourself is a beautiful thing, no matter if others may think it does not follow the conventional rules. It's amazing how people can judge you just by looking at you, and how you can leave them in awe after you start talking and make them realise they were completely wrong. That's one of my favourite things in life to be honest. At the same time, I love traditions, and it's awful seeing them disappear.

I don't drink, smoke, do drugs, have coffee, etc.. I don't like the idea of being addicted to something. I enjoy my freedom, and one cannot be fully free when he or his body need something. Also, I don't swear. not only it sounds awful, as it is useless.

I do not have a girlfriend, and that's mainly by option, as well. I do not want something with whom I'd know it probably wouldn't work. Finding someone is not hard, but if there's no magic, there's no point. I know how to fly alone, and enjoy every second of it. If there is someone else, who wants to make me fly even higher, then that will be beautiful. But, know I am not interested in someone who will want to put anchors on me. Let us go explore, let us learn, let us travel the world. Let us have no preconceptions, no fixed ideas, let us get lost together.

I get bored easily. I enjoy things which were not predicted, and just come out of nothing.. including trips, etc..
I think there's nothing more amazing that exploring life, while challenging yourself, and absorbing every little detail. The secret of life is very simple, for me: what defines us as humans is this ability for constant growth and learning; and, if we're not making the most of it, then our presence here is a waste. I can't really understand those people who already have a job for life when they're 20, who already know where they'll live, who have their group of friends, that have their routine. There is so, so much to do, so much to explore.

I notice every little detail. For me, the details make the big picture, so they're extremely important. Small things like eating the small piece of cake and leaving the bigger one for the other, or writing a small note and hiding it somewhere, or just buying something that wasn't expected, tell a lot about someone.. and I WILL notice it, and make you understand that I have.

Having said all that, I am pretty relaxed and very open-minded, so you can ignore that huge, dull text. :P
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I've lived in Timor-Leste in 2012, where I spent 11 months working for the UN. The idea was to cool down a bit at home, afterwards, but since then I've travelled to 17 countries and completed an Ironman triathlon.

I have recently moved to Thailand, to teach at a Karen refugee camp. I am the Social Sciences teacher for a group of amazing students, in a university-level program, which will hopefully contribute to forming future leaders in Burma. It’s a much less glamorous job, and the conditions in camp are pretty rough, to say the least, but I believe in what I do, and can see the impact of what I do. I will always take that over a fancy office and a cheque with many zeros in the end.

Where will I go afterwards, what will I do?.. no, I don't know. And that's amazing.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Doing something unexpected.

Adapting - to pretty much anything.

Listening to people and opening doors they didn’t see at first.

Making people laugh.

Freecell. Yes, I mean it.

Changing the way I look. which is not necessarily a good thing, but.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
That's almost too obvious of a question.

Music - Everything. Really. Not much of a reggae fan, in all truth, though.

Books - a bit of everything, even if mostly historical. I have been exploring Anais Nin's works, recently, and I've been enjoying the ride. Also - the Alchemist, really? Not that it's a bad book, but come on.

Food - I'm very open to new experiences, and will eat pretty much anything. I'm quite happy with making my own, as well, though. No onions and no curry, though, please.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
- My own personal space.
- Those close to me.
- Some driving force.
- Music.
- A camera.
- Trying new things.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I tend to feel more than to think.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
It depends on where I am, but it can range from going to the cinema, going to some concert, writing, having a laugh with some friends, playing cards, to just having a quiet night in. While in camp, Friday is a movie night, so it usually entails me choosing and playing a movie for the students, while I at the same time swing on a hammock and try to use those couple of hours when the generator is on to answer e-mails and tell the world I’m alive.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
This question defeats its own purpose.

You understand that I work in a refugee camp that's 6h away from any city [Mae Sot], meaning I won't be very flexible when it comes to travelling.

You also understand that I only have electricity 3 days a week, and that my internet access will be limited; I can generally access it every day, as I have a small solar panel, but that's not a guarantee. See it this way - I don't have a bed or running water, so internet access is a luxury almost out of this world.

You are willing to travel and explore this area [Umphang], the times I can't travel far [i can only take holidays when the school calendar allows], or you're interested in knowing what life in a refugee camp would be like [don't tell anyone, but I can sneak you in].

You are smart. You don't have to be a genious, but ideally you'd know things I don't know, and would challenge me in that way, as well.

We are far from perfect, but we can try to be better every day. We can push ourselves to do much more, to learn, to be humble. And it's easy to see who's like that, who doesn't want to just survive, but instead wants to live. Those who have a truly good bottom, who have depth, those are the beautiful people, those who truly shine. Those who are worth keeping close, and becoming better because of them. Having said that, do not feel in any way intimidated. I am sure we have a lot to learn from each other.

I appreciate any potential high rating, but I won't be able to tell who you are [no A-List] so do feel free to just drop me a line, preferably a bit more substantial than "hi".
