For work, the long story short is I do public health policy at a
national nonprofit research institution. I'm actually an attorney
with graduate training in epidemiology and medical ethics, so it's
a pretty sweet fit.
Other things I do with my life:
- I'm a musician; I'm a drummer and in a previous life I was a
classically trained pianist. Currently, I'm a drummer for a garage
rock duo, but really, my favorite jams are R&B, Soul, Hip-Hop,
and funk beats. Would like to get back to that at some point!
- I find fitness and physical challenges pretty satisfying- have
done quite a few triathlons, have been doing Crossfit for 3 years,
have done a few "goruck" events and plan on doing a few more. (see
goruck.com if you're curious.) I used to do bikram yoga, but not so
much recently. I also surf/wake-surf/wakeboard/SUP whenever I can.
(I'm from MN so I miss lake related stuff...!)
- I'm trying to do as much traveling as I can afford at the moment-
just got back from the Kentucky Bourbon Trail, Smoky Mountains, and
Patagonia recently. Will be off the the Caribbean soon, and
probably Peru and Nepal after that.
- I spend a lot of time thinking about, cooking, and eating food.
Like... a lot. I'm getting into roasting my own coffee... and I
probably spend too much money on whiskey...!
