Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
For work, the long story short is I do public health policy at a
national nonprofit research institution. I'm actually an attorney
with graduate training in epidemiology and medical ethics, so it's
a pretty sweet fit.
Other things I do with my life:
- I'm a musician; in my younger years my strict Chinese parents
forced me to learn the piano, that old yarn. After I walked off
1/3rd of the way through my last recital they finally bought me
some drums. Currently, I'm a drummer for a garage rock duo, but
really, my favorite jams are R&B, Soul, Hip-Hop, and funk
beats. Would like to get back to that at some point!
- I find fitness and physical challenges immensely satisfying- have
done quite a few triathlons, have been doing Crossfit for 3 years,
have done a few "goruck" events, which are basically Tough Mudders
with a backpack full of bricks, and plan on doing a few more. I
used to do bikram yoga, but not so much recently. I also
surf/wake-surf/wakeboard/SUP whenever I can. (I'm from MN so I miss
lake related stuff...!)
- I'm trying to do as much traveling as I can afford. Kentucky
Bourbon Trail, Smoky Mountains, and Patagonia recently. Will be off
to the Caribbean soon, and probably Peru and Nepal after
- I spend a lot of time thinking about cooking, and eating food.
Like... a lot. I'm getting into roasting my own coffee... and I
probably spend too much money on whiskey...!
