Don't you just love describing yourself in a nutshell and the helpful hints that go along with them "make sure to say something that makes you stand out"? What a bunch of hooey (yep, it's a real word and how often do you see it used?). Let's be honest, the picture(s) is what grabs your attention first. Who selects "show profiles with no pictures only", even if you don't have a picture posted yet? So, if my picture has caught your eye enough to stop and read, and have made it this far, thank you for stopping, looking and reading.

So here is a bit about me:

I have two kids who mean the world to me but do not live with me. I spend time with them when I can, ususally every-other-weekend. My oldest is my daughter and she's in her sophomore year of college and my youngest is my son who is a sophomore in high school.

I enjoy trying new things and going to new places. I enjoy walks, cooking, kayaking, going to or watching Caps games and will be getting my scuba certification soon. I am just as comfortable staying in for the night as I am going out. There are some great places around this area to eat at although I do prefer local places rather than the big chain restaurants. I read quite a bit and topics vary from historical to mystery to the occassional biography.

While this might be a trend with some guys my age and younger, I do not follow it. I live alone, in my own house, without my parents or anyone else (including pets, I am between pets currently) and can think of a number of things I would do before living with parents again. Perhaps it is worth it for some guys (I assume they save some money) but I prefer my sanity and will pay what's necessary to keep it. I also have a stable job and have been with the same company for 8 years now.

I enjoy reading (Elizabeth George, Greg Illes, and overall, a variety of authors and subjects), listening to music (80's music, Skillet, jazz) and finding new places to eat.

my kids, family, friends, books, adventure and of course, the basics

I think about many different things, like traveling or what I want to do or accomplish next in life.

with my kids if it is their weekend, if I am in town, it depends.
