I just moved to Baroda, MI. You'll be forgiven for not knowing where it is. :) I'm looking to meet some new people in town. Anyone know of a good indoor volleyball league? I've been tempted by the Olympics to get back into it.

I enjoy making people laugh, and keeping people on their toes. I like staying active and hanging out with friends. However, hanging out with that one special someone is far more important. I'm an easy going confident stable single male looking for a confident woman with good morals. I'm an optimist who always looks for the good in people. My friends say I'm such an outside the box thinker, I lost the box. I'm looking for someone who would appreciate it, and join in. :) This seems to be the hardest trait to find.
I don't like to go to bars and clubs, and tend to get along better with people the same opinion. This seems to be the second hardest trait to find.
I like to think I'm intelligent, and my research seems to confirm that. But, of course, I get to decide the parameters of intelligence. So, I can stack the odds in my favor. :)
I'm looking for someone who's uncommonly smart. Intelligence is an important trait to me, and I have great respect for someone who can do something that I can't.
I also like to think I'm funny, mostly with quick situational humor. Like... Those who laugh last think slowest.

I'm an engineer, and it fits me well because I tend to be very straight-forward, except I have a tendency to tease and be a bit sarcastic, usually only when people are about to figure it out anyway.
For about the last couple of years, I've been having friends over to my house on Monday nights to make dinner and watch TV.
I have two cats that were born February 2006, and they are awesome. I've got a fat lazy cat (he's not fat yet, but it's only a matter of time), and I have a smaller athletic active cat. They're quite a match. They both have the same gray tabby fur, but the lazy cat has slightly longer hair, and is a little bigger. So, it is quite easy to confuse the two if you don't see them next to each other.
I'm looking for a woman who's confident with herself, keeps herself in good shape, and lives for the little things in life. I'm looking for a good girl. The most important is how well we converse. When given an opportunity, I can just talk talk talk, and it's just great if you can do the same right back.

-Recently, I've been riding my bike to work, and saving my driving for trips to the grocery story and other shopping.
-I've been playing racquetball with my friends Tuesday and Thursday after work.
-And, I purchased a 5 string bass guitar so that I could learn to play some of the bass lines of my favorite songs, and make up some new ones of my own
-I used to play the piano when I was younger. A bass guitar is much more portable. I can play it while I'm watching TV (when I'm by myself, I'm not that rude :) )

If I leave this blank, does that mean I'm really good at nothing? Well, I am pretty good at . But, I don't like to brag. I can with the best of them.

I'm also rather tall, and can seem intimidating to some people, but really only at a distance, because once someone interacts with me for a little bit, you can tell I'm a softy. :)

Music: First off, I should state that I listen to music nearly all of my waking hours, except when I'm watching TV, riding my bike, or in a meeting at work. In order to keep me interested, I had to vary what I listen to. So, here is a small subset of the bands that I like in no particular order:
Soul Coughing, Cake, Better Than Ezra, Bare Naked Ladies, Dave Matthews, Beck, Ben Folds (Five), Sara Bareilles, Sarah McLachlan, Tori Amos, Michelle Branch, (more women with their pianos,) Metallica, Audio Slave, Gorrillaz, Modest Mouse, Train, Guster, They Might Be Giants, and of course many more.

I like bands with a good bass line, with understandable and melodic (not yelling or just talking) vocals, most bands with pianos, and bands that weave in different instruments (hence Dave Matthews - Dreaming Tree and some Metallica - Low Man's Lyric).

I suppose I also like movies. I like most of the big action movies, particularly when they have a complex and thoughtful plot line or when humor is added. I'm a big fan of most of the super hero movies. I also like comedies. Really, I like most movies. I'm just not a fan of scary movies (they stick with me for too long), and movies that make me feel sad for society (not easy to explain).

Yes, I also eat, and sometimes enjoy the food I'm eating. I particularly like fruit. I also like meals where you get all your food mixed together, like Chinese food, casseroles, chicken pot pie, etc.. I sometimes have difficulty following a recipe, and like to make up my own recipes.

Yes! I definitely spend a lot of time thinking. I just can't turn it off. I like doing people a favor and keep most of my thoughts to myself. I like to question things. Or maybe I like coming up with answers to things? I may have to think about that one for a while.

That reminds me of a friend of mine who when asked if he was indecisive had to think about it for a while.

The ratio of me hearing these phrases "Rob, you've thought about that way too much" to "Rob, I don't think you thought about that enough" is probably at least 10 to 1.
