My self-summary
I'm passionate about great design, healthy food, and continually fulfilling my intellectual curiosity in whatever direction it takes me.

I enjoy traveling for adventure & exploring cultures (especially anywhere I can play Indiana Jones and take a canoe through crocodile-infested waters to an otherwise inaccessible ancient ruin), cooking tasty healthy food, reading & watching good science fiction, photography, working out, and playing with cats big and small.

My friend (ZuMirOderZuDir) describes me as a hippie on the inside, preppy on the outside. I care about how I dress, my career, and my hygiene, and yet I want to buy all my food from farmers markets, learn more about herbal medicine making, do more yoga, eliminate corporate control of American politics, stop illegal domestic spying, and get off the NSA list I just put myself on.

What are my dreams? To create more. To actually go make the photo essay book that I've been thinking about for years, to start a blog about the bad design I encounter daily, to find an awesome girl who's up for the challenge and with whom I want to build an amazing relationship. I love being single and yet life has so much more meaning and flavor when you share it with someone.

The six things I could never do without
And touch in general.

And by that I mean freshly ground, fair trade, shade grown, single origin, organic, artisan roasted on an antique, hand poured on a V60. But I think that's pretty much the general assumption here in SF.

I'm pretty into technology and living in the city, but I'm compelled to go outside and hike Yosemite too.

Don't get it twisted - that doesn't mean I need all of them. But I need what they bring to the world - beauty, compassion, caring, and much more. Could I do without women and live in a world of men? Nope.

Geeky? Yes. Of course I'm fine without it for long stretches. It's not about staying connected with people or work, it's about access to information. If you think this one is silly, ask yourself how you felt when your internet went down and how long it was down. Also, you're on it RIGHT NOW.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Alec Baldwin's Glengarry Glen Ross speech. The Last Psychiatrist blog. Building a vacuum tube audio amplifier. Which handmade Japanese kitchen knives I'm going to buy.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have no tattoos, but I like them. Sometimes I get stuck in the trap where perfectionism prevents creativity. The tattoo thing is definitely that. Plus, I would want it to be a sort of transhumanist statement, but technology is evolving while tattoos are permanent. It's a tough nut to crack.

Also, I never made it to space camp :-( But I did go to a small liberal arts college and then grad school at a fancy East Coast school. Boola Boola.
