I am optimistic, resilient, and passionate.

My Self-Summary

I'm a photographer currently living in Minneapolis, but soon I'll be packing up my camera and driving west to rebuild my business, and my life, in Seattle (unless I get inspired somewhere else along the way and decide to stay for a while).

After my second year of college I decided to take a year off and I moved to London and Dublin for a year. When I was there I really discovered photography and fell head over heels in love with it. I came back and finished my degree, but knew my course had changed and instead of working in a career in marketing I've poured all of my energy into building a photography business that is my complete love and passion.

I'm a vagabond at heart. I haven't lived in the same place for more than a year since I graduated from high school and have been known to jump in my car and drive across the country on a whim. Usually on these trips it's the little things that capture my heart (it's always the little things); the random stranger in a coffee shop that sparks an instant connection, the moments that come alive in front of my camera, the perfect song that comes on as I'm driving east at sunrise.

I grew up in central Minnesota surrounded by lakes and forests, so I love to escape into nature whenever I can.

I'm so intrigued by people and want to know everyone's story. I think it's fascinating that we all have these entire lives worth of stories built up, and I want to hear them all.

(I'd love to hear your stories)

What I’m doing with my life

capturing moments.

I’m really good at

Finding outlets at coffee shops, reading people, getting lost in moments, driving, sneaking to the front of concerts.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Currently my music rotation includes Margot and the Nuclear So and So's, Phoenix, Port O'Brien, Mirah, Great Lake Swimmers, Patrick Watson, Hey Rosetta, Jeremy Messersmith, & P. O. S. And always mixed in there is Wilco, Neil Young, Ani DiFranco, Stevie Ray Vaughan, DCFC, Iron+Wine, Bon Iver, The Album Leaf, and anything local to Minneapolis. My last.fm is 60,000+ tracks strong if you care to peruse, and if you recommend new music that I fall in love with I'll thank you forever.

A People's History of the United States, The Alchemist, and I'll get sucked into a Palahniuk book every time.

Movies I find myself getting lost in time+time again: Amelie, Lost in Translation, Royal Tenenbaums, Vanilla Sky, 500 Days of Summer, Away We Go, Lock Stock, Fight Club. I just saw Where The Wild Things Are and the imagery and use of light made my photographer-heart melt.

The six things I could never do without

moments, music, amazing+honest people to love, my camera, nature

I spend a lot of time thinking about

My business. Almost too much time, it's always on my mind.

On a typical Friday night I am

Going to a show or 5.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I'm an open book; just ask.

You should message me if

You have something to say that'll blow my mind.

Or hi.
