My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Former desert dweller, stripe enthusiast, desperately making things.

I think I'm a comma-happy person,, , ,,,
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Usually: Upgrading, uploading, trying to finish all the books I've started reading, getting my foot in the door of the world of freelancing, reading "About" pages, taking my portfolio to all sorts of visual artists in the Bay Area, avoiding dairy, biking before sunrise, trying--trying--to avoid pineapple, and going through a pair of earphones every six months or so, it seems.

In a broader sense: making plans for Berlin. Getting ready for grad school. Trying to make sense of things.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
surviving in 120+ degree weather, correcting misspelled words, upsetting my best buddy every time he makes a spelling/grammatical error, and documenting it; carrying things I don't need in my book bag, taking bad photos of people, counting the number of times my friend says "Neutral Hilk Motel" whilst inebriated, using 5-minute epoxy to fix things I've broken, making plaster molds, making meme references, noticing when people hit their faces with the grips on bart or muni.

The first things people usually notice about me

"Why are you sad?" Ungainliness? Lost in thought?

Sketchbooks, Faulkner's The Sound and the Fury, Las Manos del Día, Plath's journals, e.e. cummings, "A Perfect Day for Bananafish", Russian literature, magazines (those foreign publications that break the bank--not the gossipy stuff). Lately, I've developed a penchant for history and non-fiction.

4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days, The Bicycle Thief, The Darjeeling Limited, Everything is Illuminated. I kind of like mumblecore.

TV: For the most part, this and this.

Music: Animal Collective, Beach Fossils, Beach House, Crystal Castles, Death from Above 1979, Deerhunter, DIIV, Explosions in the Sky, Grimes, Grouper, the Horrors, the Kinks, Mac Demarco, Mew, the Microphones, Mono, Neutral Milk Hotel, Pavement, Real Estate, the Smiths, Sonic Youth, Soviet Soviet, Ty Segall, Wild Nothing. Radiolab. I guess I mostly listen to music I can space out to. I've been collecting sounds (mostly hums and drones) with a low-quality recorder, which only makes them stranger.

Almond milk, please. Saul's french toast is glorious. I've been told I go to Zazie too often and I get hungry every time I pass Han Il Kwan.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. Long-term goals/ambition
2. Privacy
3. Honesty
4. Humor, silliness, and banter
5. Mornings
6. Innovation/inspiration/collaboration

Optimism, communication, integrity...and naps.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
-isms, space and spaces, grids, lo-fi/lo-res, sustainability, why ukuleles, banjos, and accordions make me so happy, why both of my legs fall asleep at the most inappropriate times, soundscapes, why I keep purchasing sketchbooks when I have more than thirty of them at home, what to do when I don't have any commitments, if Mono's "Burial at Sea" has Spanish influences, and grad school.

Did I give my bike a silly name?

Are my goals achievable?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Oh, I don't know anymore.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I was on the soccer team back in first grade and my nose was broken two days after I joined. I am somewhat asymmetrical now.

I was voted "shyest" in high school and #exoticshorthair is my favorite Instagram hashtag.
