My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a geek with a creative streak (i.e. aspiring writer and poet), someone who was once very into fitness and is slowly working back into it again. I'm a card-carrying member of the ACLU *and* the USO, as rare as that may be. My job has been my life for so long that I've forgotten much of what it is like to live. Sad isn't it? I'm getting better though, now that I've recently started a new job with higher pay and less responsibility.
I'm also one of those guys with more than one home, but not like winter/summer homes, though I guess north of the river in summer might be *slightly* cooler than Olathe. :)
I don't socialize much, unless you get me going. Right now my circle of friends is pretty small, though my circle of friendly acquaintances is huge. I like to think I can empathize with others and as a result make friends with folks from all walks of life.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Being single and passively looking for a new direction.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Imaging ways to make the world a better place. Whether they're achievable (or even feasible) is another matter.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Wow, this depends on the day of the week, or year in my life. I've been a bleach-blonde, tanned, toned geek and people would notice the hair and the eyes (metallic blue I guess?). My hair is in a "yellow" phase right now, so that's probably what people notice first.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

What do geeks love more than sci-fi/fantasy? Well I do love comedy-dramas more than anything else, and I had an obsession with mafia stuff for a while (Godfather, Goodfellas, Casino, Sopranos). Now I love most anything, with the exception of country and cookie-cutter romantic comedies (anything starring Kate Hudson or Katherine Heigl, pretty much). I will watch anything Joss Whedon is involved in, because it's Whedon (must I provide a reason?). I read some fiction but I'm lately fascinated with history and current events. As for food, Italian is my stock answer. Love love love Italian.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Air, water, Italian food (see above), at least one cat (I have two right now), my imagination, and the freedom to be creative. Not sure if I had to list tangible things.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Things I should be doing but aren' writing, running, getting out, finding someone to have some fun with. I've historically been a hell of a procrastinator, but with my new house I find myself motivated pretty regularly.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Playing poker at the Hollywood Casino or hanging with my sis and her hubby eating dinner and watching movies. Otherwise, I'm at home reading blogs and watching some part of my massive collection of DVDs.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Trick question. I'm willing to admit it, but not on a public web site. Ask me when you see me and I'll probably talk about it, if you aren't prudish.

you're okay being passionate with someone who's not as attractive as he could be, but certainly has potential.
