My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Ok I've read some of the profiles on various sites and they all describe lovely people who all seem to keep fit, love cooking, enjoy being retired and want to meet an equally perfect woman who will be their soul mate! Well I prefer being honest - you won't find that 'perfect' woman in me! The idea of trying to build a relationship on my trying to be an ideal woman or my partner trying to be an ideal man is something I really can't be bothered with!

Here is some of the truth about me,,,,the rest you would only find out by getting to know me if you want to:

- Like a lot of people I have emotional scars and baggage so some things may become unexpectedly a rough ride
- I don't lose my temper often but when I do it is spectacular
- I hate being patronised or told what to do all the time - I am a competent independent person who has lived on my own for a long time and I'm pretty good at living my life
- I'm a chatterbox
- I need my own space and will object if anyone tries to invade it
- I'm a diet controlled diabetic, which means I need to eat regularly and I'm pretty picky about what I can eat
- I love my job and anyone who tries to get between me and my work will come of second best
- I'm 57 that means my body has been in a few wars and is not perfect - in other words I look reasonably good for my age but that age is 57
- my adult son comes first - if he needs me - which is not very often I did a good job of bringing him up - but if he does then I'm there
- my cat comes a close second - sorry!

There is some good stuff too:

- I care deeply for those I value
- I will negotiate and discuss ways of building bridges and bypasses round or over the things in a relationship that may not work first time
- I maintain myself so if I'm high maintenance its nothing for you to worry about
- I do not expect or want to be with someone every minute of every day - I think a relationship is more interesting if both partners bring different things to it
- I am a very good listener,; I do not automatically give advice, I assume that the other person is capable of working out what they need/want to do
- I value emotional intelligence, the ability to discuss differences and a willingness to both learn and teach

If that lot hasn't put you off please contact me and we'll see what happens
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work full time for a local charity and absolutely love it. The work is very varied and challenging so I am kept on my toes with little time to be bored!
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Baking, gardening and trying to make people feel good about themselves
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I don't think most people do notice me! I'm only 5 foot tall!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Books - I read a lot! Any Terry Pratchett is a winner. Mercedes Lackey, David Eddings, Anne McCaffrey and Jean M Auel. In fact quite a lot of science fiction and science fantasy authors, although I will read just about anything.
Movies - fairly lightweight stuff really
Middle of the road type music - in other words I listen to Radio 2!
Not a great foodie, I like well cooked and presented food but definitely don't like the exotic!
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My son, my cat, my friends, my books, my moisturiser and my health.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Why people will read a long, detailed summary of a personality and then send a message saying 'Hi how r u'. At least punctuate and spell it properly but personally I prefer it if someone asks a question that requires more than a one word answer. I filled in all this stuff to make it easier to start a conversation not just to amuse myself!
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Curled up on the sofa with my cat and a book. Not very exciting but I enjoy my own company just maybe not quite so much of it as I have at the moment.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
That bad spelling/grammar irritates me! Especially if it is me who has made the grammatical or spelling error.
