My self-summary
I am loyal, considerate, passionate, nice to a fault, captivated by stories of all kinds, terrible at writing self summaries , filled with a child like curiosity, struggling with my love of adrenaline and my growing sense of fear for bodily harm. Recently got hooked on firearms competition. Love snowboarding and sailing(not that I get to do much of that lately). Moving from Wisconsin to Idaho allowed me to trade up in snowboarding but down in sailing.
What I’m doing with my life
Working on completing a PhD in physical organic chemistry. Not sure where I want to go with it at the moment.
I’m really good at
procrastinating, teaching, recommending books to others, one handed cartwheels
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I am an avid reader at least 8-9 books a semester. I read mostly fantasy with some science fiction thrown in. My current favorite authors are George R.R. Martian , Robert Jordan, Jim Butcher, Brandon Sanderson and Patrick Rothfuss. I enjoy a wide variety of movies but some of my favorites are Grandma's boy, Chasing Amy, Clerks 1+2, Mallrats, Serenity (along with firefly tv show), Real genius, Zombieland, Out Cold ,Starwars original trilogy, and Dr. Horrible's sing-along-blog to name a few. I am picky when it comes to music but my tastes cover almost all genres except really bad country and most electronic music but the vocalist makes it or breaks it for me. Some of my favorites include Grateful Dead ,Reel Big Fish ,Everclear, Weezer ,the Beatles, George Clinton and the parliament funkadelic , and soo many more.
The six things I could never do without
1. My laptop
2. Smartphone to stay in touch with my family and friends as well as carry my music, books , tv/movies damn thing does everything
3. Paperbacks(even though Ive been reading more on my phone nothing beats the smell or feel of a new paperback)
4. A comfortable pair of shoes
5. Snow
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Snowboarding, delocalized electrons, what i would do in a zombie apocalypse,
On a typical Friday night I am
In the lab, watching TV , reading, Johns Alley with friends, or getting things ready to hit the mountain on Saturday.
