I am confident, entertaining, and enchanting.

My Self-Summary

I'm already referring my time in college as "back when I was in college"... and only been out for a couple years, love it, eh? Anyway, I've always been a bit more mature than my age says I should be... so I get told anyway, who really knows... all while personally not feeling older than I should. Still feeling young without all the psychosis that goes with being immaturely young. I've never had any interest in drugs, I'm not a partier though I will have fun (as long as I'm not at a rave or a deafening night club), I can be unpredictable and random, and every couple weeks I'll go out for a few drinks (and a few means literally a few or less, NOT "Let's down a 'few' drinks!"). I also have a pretty unique personality, go to the beat of my own drum and all that. General picture, I know, so do please continue.

Anyway, while it's not my profession, I am a hobbyist hypnotist, and thus very interested in hypnosis, as unusual as that might sound. I'm interested in other things, love anime, a bit of a gamer though only above average, not amazing or anything, been working out and remembering how much it hurts to get *started* again... yea... I've always found it difficult to attempt to answer questions before knowing what they'll be in a bio like this. Let's see, I'm confident but not cocky, can be funny and serious at the same time, I'm cynical but I tend to be able to portray that without making people feel like there's no point (like some cynics that I know), I have a slightly more dominant personality even though I enjoy giving to someone I like, and I love to relax but hate having nothing to do. Anyway, tell ya what, you got a question, I'll answer it (but only on the condition that if you are capable of answering the question, you'll do so, too)

What I’m doing with my life

I'm a professional software engineer, and have a major interest in hypnosis. While hypnosis will never be my career choice (hobbies always tend to be more fun than careers, even if it's something you enjoy... that and I don't wanna be a therapist, and I freeze in front of large crowds), it will be a passion of mine for a long time to come. I do intend to look into being a certified hypnotist some day (when I can make time for doing so, really). I tend to keep hypnosis sessions with people I've gotten to know enough that they feel safe with me and I feel it is good for them, or at least really fun. I enjoy other stuff about hypnosis, but you don't get to learn any more unless you get to know *me*. Feel free to ask me anything about it.

Besides that, I'm just relaxing when I can, having fun when I can, and all that good stuff. Been trying to get back into shape. Sure, I'm a good weight, but being in shape doesn't only mean being at a decent weight.

I’m really good at

Software engineering, hypnosis, videogames, divulging random anime trivia, basic psychology... being a smartass geek lol

The first things people usually notice about me

My eyes, my laugh, or my being a smartass... and in some occasions, my ass. It is a fact that I am a nice ass, and you can take that however ya want.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: the Myst series, Sherlock Holmes stories, some books on hypnosis. Actually re-reading the Myst series now. I take my time when I read, I'm not the type to blow through multiple decent-length books in a week.

Movies: Dogma, Clerks I/II (Kevin Smith movies in general), Spaceballs and a good number of Mel Brooks movies, most "non-idiotic" comedy, and anime (for TV and movies).
Sidenote: If you love Jackass and don't really get a movie like Dogma (there's something to "get"?), we probably won't get along well.

Music: anything except rap or hip hop, though I have a preference toward jazz and classical, mainly instrumental music. I know lines of songs, I rarely remember song names unless famous, and I never remember song performers, so just because a song is famous doesn't mean I'll have a chance of knowing who performed it. I'm always shocked when someone doesn't know really well known older songs, i.e. (Don't Fear) The Reaper or Bohemian Rhapsody. Yes, very different songs, just giving examples. I don't expect people to memorize lines, I expect people to recognize the melody or something, though lol. I'm somewhat entertained when a 50 year old guy will hear me sing something fairly unknown these days like "16 Tons" (YouTube it, good song) and be like "Someone as young as you knows that song?!" :P
It's also cool when I can reference lines from "They're Coming to Take Me Away, Ha Ha!" and not be looked at like I'm truly nutty by at least one person lol.

Food: steak, pizza rolls, ravioli, ice cream (I tend to want it more in the winter than in the summer... is that wierd?), and especially sushi and sashimi. LOVE that stuff.

Not completely on the same topic, but also love checking out videos at ThatGuyWithTheGlasses.com. Awesome stuff there, take a look around at some point, thank me later.

The six things I could never do without

Food, water, air, anime, internet, and friends. Not necessarily in that order. Money has to come in after those, because, well, let's admit it, a certain level is needed in this world.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Hypnotism, basic psychology, "why," "why" of that first why, "why" of that second why... you get the picture. One of the biggest why's are things like "Why would someone even do [insert inane, but real, story here]?!"

On a typical Friday night I am

Either out at a bar for a couple drinks, home watching TV, playing some videogames, or chatting away with a good friend or two.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

When laundry day is coming up, I'll wear *some* dirty clothes a second day in a row (but never underpants... ugh)

You should message me if

If you're interested in being friends:
-You're open minded.
-You can laugh at a dirty joke without feeling offended because "That degrades women everywhere" or something weird like that.
-I babble sometimes, be able to (A) handle that and (B) go with it. I'm sure there'll be times you'll want to babble as well. You let me do mine, and you get your time, too.
-You realize that talking online is a written medium, and if you can't display your thoughts in a remotely intelligent fashion that people won't pay those thoughts any mind. Example of an extreme that will be ignored immediately: "o u r sooooooooooo rite, dat is tot my fav!"
Obviously, talking in person or on the phone would not be like this, but to do that, we'll be talking in e-mail first, don't make yourself look like a total idiot, but rather someone of average or better intelligence, thank you.

Curious about relationship or the like:
-A friend first before the rest (note: look just before this)
-You should be at least mostly independent. You understand how unattractive a clingy person is, and silently promise never to be one.

If I think of more that's really important to me, I'll mention it, but really, if you're interesting to talk to, you're open minded, and can present yourself as having average overall intelligence, I'll likely wanna chat with ya. Curiosity is a good thing, by the way.
