Makes Me Laugh

I think the time we were wandering the streets of Minneapolis, singing like Irish drunkards, was the hardest I've laughed all year. read more

I am Sarcastic, Witty, and Geeky.

My Self-Summary

Been living in MSP for 11 years now, originally from a great western state known as a producer of starch. I'm a voracious reader and gadget-hound...also a huge geek, as evidenced by my love for all things Otaku based, with a side dish of comic books. Friends say I'm warm, generous, and generally upbeat. I fight crime on the weekends, and saved the planet last night. Don't believe me?! Well, you're still *here*, aren't you...?

What I’m doing with my life

"When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro."--Hunter Thompson

I'm an IT Supervisor at a medium sized law firm. I mostly do paperwork. And move mountains, make the impossible possible, and routinely turn bullets into ice cream. I'm big on fitness--I eat right, excercise fairly reguarly, and ride my bike/walk/run/paraglide almost everywhere.

I’m really good at

Cheering sad people up, trivia, hugs. Making up silly songs on the fly. Staying warm on cold days, Opening pickle jars.

The first things people usually notice about me

My willingness to discuss any subject. My glasses, shoulders, and bald head. Or my hat if it's cold out. I also have a smile that won't quit.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I'm about 90% vegetarian because my love of bacon exceeds all. My favorite foods are Thai, Vietnamese or Greek. I don't really watch that much TV anymore, but I get a certain guilty pleasure out of 30 Rock, Doctor Who, Battlestar Galactica, and the Cartoon Network. I'm also a huge history buff, love to watch the Hitler*--oops, I mean History Channel. I like video gaming on both the PC and Xbox 360, but it's truly more of a social way to spend time with friends without spending $$$ than an obsession. My taste in books is eclectic and very varied--i.e. I bought an iPhone not because it plays music or is made by Apple, but because I thought it would be a good eBook reader. The stuff I've read most recently--

1. Robert Anton Wilson (the Historical Illuminatus)
2. Hunter S. Thompson (pretty much all of it)
3. Chuck Palahniuk (Fight Club, Lullaby)
4. Bruce Campbell (if Chins Could Kill)
5. Ayn Rand (the Fountainhead--still working on this one)

Music--also varies--when I was a kid I loved old school punk, goth, and metal fairly exclusively, but my rampaging song-o-phobia toward anything outside of those genres has mellowed quite a bit of the last few years.

*Neo-Nazis need not apply.

The six things I could never do without

1. My friends. My family isn't large anymore, so they're all I've got.
2. My Converse. We all need a good pair of walking shoes.
3. My EEE PC--small, lightweight, and 8 hours of battery life baby!
4. Gatorade.
5. John Powers Whiskey
6. my bicycle

I spend a lot of time thinking about

If Brad Pitt would beat up George Clooney for a chance to fight William Shatner. Cures for cancer. Favorite smells. How awesome my own Fortress of Solitude would be. How cool my bike is.

On a typical Friday night I am

Lately, I've been somewhat more introverted and putting all my tricked-out home entertainment devices through their paces. Normally, however, I'll meet up with friends in either the American Dairy Prevention Council or Drunken Philosophers Society. also, parties.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

all she has to do is say the word, and yes, I will go to Seattle with the seal, midget, and surfboard.

You should message me if

You want a fun and funny friend.
You like guys with giant heads and huge chins.
retro-chic glasses turn you *on*.
You can tell me why a 32 bit OS can't, for all
practical purposes, use more than 3 GB of RAM.
If you're a Martian supermodel. You and I will
re-populate the Red Planet, baby.
