My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a commercial [public sector procurement] lawyer with a sense of humour. My job's my[...]

There should be a "What I'm not looking for..." question.

I don't (want to) understand people who think "travelling" makes them interesting when they haven't the wit to explore the potential of what's in front of them. [All things bright & beautiful: there's more on heaven and earth than travel philosophy]

"Polyamorous" is right up there with "travelling" you wild, adventurous characters. [But is something lost as well as gained in poly? Which do I value more? For now?]

[Female peeps] who write thousands of words about themselves ("I'm rubbish at talking about myself" [Reflexive? Tee hee]) and end with words to the effect "nutters [male peeps/me] need not apply" Apply?!!! You're on a free to air dating site. [There's no reason to feel insecure with me if you're prepared to find a place that's safe for you and talk, and persevere - at least a bit.]

[Don't upset] yourself. [Polite enquiry: h]ow come is it that according to [seemingly so many of] your answers so many of you bisexual females "never have and never would" have sex with a woman? [Can't have both or what am I missing?!?? Want to know *stamps foot* Might be useful:) I'm a lawyer, you can trust the morning;]

I'm a good listener and thoughtful. [sometimes]
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working with people and living alone. [Sort of. *inscrutable face*]

[Not being stubborn. Live my life by it;]

[Learning to listen and process. Really! I'm nearly 40!! Sobriety has been good to me and is a gift that keeps giving. Not pious or holy abt it though.]
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Saving other people money. Wordsmithery. [Sitting on my arse]
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
That I can be obnoxious. [don't like to be though. Learning & practicin. Practicing & learnin]
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Cleva books that make me laugh. Should I list them to prove how sophisticated and erudite I am? Nah. [I decide how I feel and choose accordingly. More a (written) media/journalist peep than bookworm or scholar in truth. Quality over quantity though.]

Four Lions is one of the funniest and certainly the bravest film I've seen. Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy was disappointing... Not been to the movies since joining OKC... [Update: thought Bond v derivative but liked Boune Legacy, Hobbit ok (didn't like book), Pi disappointing (lived book), Lincoln I left early etc etc]

[Haven't seen, and would certainly like to, the new Gatsby. At a loose end anyhow. See what laughingly passed for my job!!]

Musically, "The melody chord unwinds me..." [And Jake Bugg.]
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
3 would be: family, opportunity & sleep.[security, learning, reflexivity - and I need much less sleep these days;]

[Looking at the above it appears I value principally security & change. Do you think these values conflict with each other?]
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Other people - including you [#lol] xx

[& work. Who doesn't, right?]

[Right now? Shiny new kit] [amongst other things]

[Me:)] [And talkin abt myself. Person-centred, see? Believe me if I get going, you having nothing to say won't be the problem..;]

I will take all the square brackets out of this profile eventually but it's helpful with my recovery at the moment and old habits... I am a lawyer (natural born one too:) And I'll complete de-personalising the pejorative language if you like:))
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
In bed with a glass of orange juice and ...[my phone;]
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
You will have guessed that ventisquero [wine I was drinking at the time: red Chilean merlot I think] is not my real name and that I'm a shy guy.

[But discovered/remembered my 'extrovert' side and my voice during counselling with an insightful, compassionate professional peep. (I call her #yoda;)]

[I'm a recovering alcoholic and I originally wrote this profile while still drinking.

[I hope to set a more optimistic example to other vulnerable (alcoholic) peeps [as I did not remember having one to look to].]

[Twitter: @LouisTrimble911 (Not my name either!): F Scott Fitzgerald, The Lost Decade. FB?] [Just ask if you'd like to know my name - oh come on Dan, that's lame..;]

[I have shiny new kit syndrome. Working on it.:]
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You are sincere; [compassionate?]

You bought your phone without using your dad's money;]

You know who I am; [and;/]or,[(joint&several:)]

You know I won't always catch you if you fall.

[What's this all abt? Don't upset yourself and get defensive;) Get secure instead, talk abt it - when you're ready, where it's safe for you to do so... ]
