I am Thoughful, Genuine, and a Music Fanatic.
My Self-Summary
I am an easy going, passionate, thoughtful, and funny guy. I am
also very family oriented and look for others who have a strong
family background as well. My friends are also very important to
me, and I consider them as parts of my extended family.
I'm looking for someone who is also pretty easy going, honest,
straight forward, intelligent, put-together, driven, and who
doesn't take himself too seriously.
I am a music fanatic, a truly genuine person, and I love to talk
with others and learn about them.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm just about to begin a PhD program in psychology and am new to
Tucson. I am a researcher and therefore can get a bit over-excited
about things such as gender identity and socialization, and
familial relations. I'd like to think it's charming in a way.
I’m really good at
Listening to others and truly hearing them, reading people,
singing, and being an over-achiever.
The first things people usually notice about me
Is that I'm a nice guy, my genuine interest in others, and my eyes.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
The Great Gatsby, Catcher in the Rye, Running with Scissors,
psychology books (e.g., Carol Gilligan)
Drop Dead Gorgeous, Volver, Wall-E, Kill Bill (Vol.2 ), Mean
Girls
Side note: I am addicted to the Food Network. It could turn into a
problem if I ever possess enough time to actually watch TV.
Billy Joel, Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keys, John Legend, Jason Mraz,
Aretha Franklin, Michael Buble, Lauryn Hill, Regina Spektor, (old)
Mariah Carey, Weezer, Dixie Chicks, Christmas music, Corinne Bailey
Rae, some Broadway, Ella
Thai food, my Mom's homemade tomato sauce, quiche, ranch dressing
The six things I could never do without
My family & friends.
Tap water.
My Mac/Internet.
My desire to learn & research (this one probably shouldn't
count).
Everlasting Gobstoppers.
My ability to sing.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What I'm going to eat next, my future and how I'm going to
accomplish my grandiose plans, when I'm going to see my
family/friends next, how pervasive gender stereotyping is in our
everyday experiences (yeah, I'm a nerd).
On a typical Friday night I am
Either out at a pub/bar, catching up on my TV shows on Hulu, doing
school work, or hanging out with friends at home.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I'm a very open person and there isn't too much about my life that
is private. However, one thing that I am not too forthcoming about
is my ridiculous fear of getting a dairy product on my body and
having it spoil. Yes, that is extremely bizarre and crazy of me,
but we all have our things.
You should message me if
I haven't scared you away with my fear of spoiled milk...or more
ideally, you are interested in learning more about me.
