My self-summary
Hi, I'm Vikram. I love the following things, amongst others:

Music, films, travel, reading, writing, playing in my band, summertime, festivals, long tangential conversations, meeting people, little adventures, massive adventures, football, cricket, maps and bad jokes

or alternatively,

"I like too many things and get all confused and hung-up running from one falling star to another till I drop. This is the night, what it does to you." (Jack Kerouac - On The Road)
What I’m doing with my life
I'm originally from Newcastle, spent 3 amazing years doing my undergraduate degree at Oxford, and now I'm studying Medicine at Warwick University, just started my final year.

I'm generally to be found in and around Leamington, but I go home to Newcastle every so often and I've got a fair few friends in London (plus I just love that city) so I try to head down there when I can too.

Other than that, I'm just trying to have as much fun as I can, experience new things and meet people who are trying to do the same.
I’m really good at
wasting time, talking crap and staying up too late...

I'm not too bad at playing the piano/keyboard either, and I seem to enjoy accumulating ostensibly pointless general knowledge far too much so I'm quite handy in a pub quiz
The first things people usually notice about me
once they find out where I grew up, the invitable question comes up...

"Why don't you have a Geordie accent?"

I'm just a disappointment to everyone I meet.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Music - generally all kinds of weird and wonderful indie, rock, punk, folk, electro, pop and the like... I don't want to list thousands of bands here so feel free to stalk me at www.last.fm/user/ontheoverpass

Movies - all kinds of stuff. A few random recent favourites - Y Tu Mama Tambien, Into The Wild, Mysterious Skin, Let The Right One In, The History Boys, In The Loop, City Of God, Milk, Animal Kingdom, Adventureland

Shows - Arrested Development, The West Wing, Lost, Twin Peaks, 30 Rock, loads of other stuff

Books - I'll read anything that sticks with you and genuinely makes you think. Favourites would probably be On The Road, Less Than Zero, The Great Gatsby, Revolutionary Road, Brideshead Revisited, Kafka On The Shore, Middlesex, Cloud Atlas, The Line Of Beauty, The Amazing Adventures Of Kavalier And Clay... that kinda stuff.

Food - well, I like good food and I'll try anything. These days I can even cook a pretty good meal (I'm such a catch).
The six things I could never do without
Music - listening to it, and playing it
My friends and family
New experiences
Free time, even if I'm only going to waste it
Long chats and alternating silly and highbrow humour
Reckless optimism
I spend a lot of time thinking about
songs I want to write
overly ambitious travel plans
the past and the future
things I want to cook
endless to-do lists
other humans
On a typical Friday night I am
maybe at the pub, maybe visiting friends, maybe at a gig, maybe just hanging out chatting or watching a film.
I’m looking for
  • Guys who like guys
  • Ages 20–30

You should message me if
I'm not going to try and tell you what my type is - that's far too hard to pin down. So yeah, if you think we'd get on just send me a message, let's chat about stuff and take it from there.
