My self-summary
Sometimes I wonder if I am defined only by my interests, which largely consist of video & board games, movies, scripted television, and the occasional comic. Or that I'm defined by how I like dudes and musicals and brightly colored things. Or that I am a four-eyed perpetual learner who sometimes has problems speaking clearly. Or that I am a myers-briggs INTJ. Or that I'm a cute lazy boy who loves to take naps. Or that I am a vegan with a bs BS from UCD who works at a non-profit in SF.

Do these things sum me up? I think at this point I've gathered enough INT/WIS to say without a doubt "No."
What I’m doing with my life
Mainly I'm enjoying the ride. It's working out pretty well. When my life is full of games and friends, I'm good. That isn't to say I'm not pursuing more than that, just that I don't let that search dictate who I am.
I’m really good at
Remembering things that aren't important, like video game quests from years ago.

Occasionally, I like dreaming up new worlds and writing about them and/or designing board games set in them. I'm not completely horrible at it (well, maybe the writing is technically horrible).
The first things people usually notice about me
I would imagine it would depend on the context. I can be shy (around strangers), cute (in the right light), bossy (when games are involved), slow (when I am thinking things through), sharp (when I am confident), or aloof (sometimes it comes naturally) when first met.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Music The Cranberries (and Dolores O'Riordan), Nellie McKay, Jason Mraz, Fun., Super Mario Galaxy soundtrack, musicals...

Movies Hairspray (both versions, but I prefer the musical), Serenity, Pleasantville, Sky High, Mamma Mia!, The Sweetest Thing, cheesy gay movies (e.g. Were the World Mine), Bring it On, Pitch Perfect, more. Lately I've been watching netflix blu rays, so I have my fair share of romantic comedies and fantasy action movies under my belt.

Current Television Futurama, Lost Girl, Once Upon a Time, The Legend of Korra, Defiance, Continuum, Drop Dead Diva, Doctor Who, Awkward., Switched at Birth, Revenge, Suits, Wilfred, Archer, The Mindy Project, New Girl, Glee, Community, Castle, True Blood, South Park, Parks and Recreation, The Office, Modern Family, Warehouse 13, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries, How I Met Your Mother, Being Human (US), Adventure Time

Legacy Television Firefly, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Being Erica, Party Down, Dollhouse, Torchwood, The Sarah Jane Adventures, Merlin, The Wizards of Waverly Place, The New Normal, all of the Star Trek spin-offs (Voyager being my favorite), Wonderfalls, Pushing Daisies, Kyle XY, The L Word, Popular, Arrested Development, Veronica Mars, Angel, Xena: Warrior Princess, The Legend of the Seeker, Lost, Alias, Dead Like Me, Ugly Betty, Gossip Girl, Six Feet Under, 30 Rock, 3rd Rock From the Sun, Battlestar Galactica, Stargate (SG-1 and Atlantis - kinda eh about Universe but I still watched it), Sanctuary, Eureka, Farscape, Weeds, Flight of the Conchords, Reaper, Smallville, Desperate Housewives, Brothers and Sisters, Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008), X-men (The Animated Series, Evolution and Wolverine and the X-Men), The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, Read or Die

... what can I say, I love having my own little tv marathons - no commercials though, thanks.

Online Media Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, The Guild, The Flog, Tabletop, Husbands, Very Mary Kate.

Books Favorite authors: Mercedes Lackey, David Eddings, JK Rowling, Philip Pullman, Rick Riordan, Lemony Snicket, Robin Hobb, Eoin Colfer, Jim Butcher. I kind of am in love with young adult science fantasy, although I just started branching out a little bit. I read Sonya Sotomayor's book - very compelling.

Food I am vegan, so that limits me a tiny bit. But other than that I am not picky at all and will eat pretty much anything. A few favorites: eggplant, hummus, mushrooms, black turtle beans, brussel sprouts, hot sauce, wild rice, kale, bread.
The six things I could never do without
Games, hope, imagination, free time, sorcery, and that feeling you get when hot water runs down the back of your neck when you move right up against the nozzle in the shower.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Whatever game / show / interest I am currently obsessing over. (Right now - Defiance and the Rachel Morgan books)

Imagining that I can call lightning bolts like Storm.

What exciting thing I'll be doing today. (That is, exciting to me, not necessarily conventionally.)
On a typical Friday night I am
Board games, other games, reading/writing, drinks, a movie, a nap, going out(side), and/or whatever strikes my fancy.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'll admit anything. Shame is for chumps.
I’m looking for
  • Guys who like guys
  • Ages 25–38
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, activity partners
You should message me if
You need geek points. I'm very good at helping people cultivate them. Just ask how!

Or, if you want to meet me. Which you probably should. ;P

Or, if you are willing to hear the music that is playing in my head and sing along with me.

I'm ultimately looking for someone to share my life with, but I'm not willing to do that with just anyone. I have no idea how to get to that point with a person - so far my plan is to fumble into it somehow.
