My self-summary
I am fascinated by technology and the possibilities that it brings. Basically, this means I keep up to date on science journals, what the big-wigs (Elon Musk, Raymond Kurzweil, Dean Kamen, etc.) are up to, and I enjoy reading/watching hard sci-fi and science programs.

I am passionate about the natural world. Knowing and being comfortable around nature, animals, and weather is something I always enjoy learning about and exploring. I used to collect beetles, and would like to start that up again soon.

I am also interested in baseball (not super stats or anything), religious / human right discussions, and psychology/sociology.
What I’m doing with my life
I work at UNT managing a Help Desk.
I’m really good at
Speaking to new people and communicating.

Building computers, and understanding how they work.

Figuring out how to do something that I don't know pretty quickly.

Making pancakes.

Being bold in acting once I have made a decision.
The first things people usually notice about me
My hazel eyes, my red facial hair, and my sarcastic humor.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
This list isn't exhaustive, but I tried to make it representative while keeping it down to a few selections per category.

Books
- A Game of Thrones; I enjoy the gritty fantasy, the abundance of characters, and the willingness of the author to kill them off right when you are developing a connection to them to hit you even harder.
- Forever War; a hard-ish sci-fi about war. Does a lot for me in terms of describing some of the horror it can bring, the uncertainty, and how space travel would probably have to work.
- The Mistborn Trilogy; an excellent fantasy series very well written. Pure enjoyment was what caused this read.

Movies
- The Fifth Element; Don't try to argue that this isn't the best movie ever made. It has everything: Comedy, Romance, Action, Editing, Music, Colors, Beautiful People, Locations.
- Moon; One of my favorite actors in a type of cinema that I really enjoy, the one man film. This type of film usually stretches the cinematography to the limit when it is constantly showing one guy, and especially when it is in a relatively cramped space. This is.
- Children of Men; A couple of my favorite actors and some of the best long takes in cinema.

Music
- Awolnation, Back from Earth; great sounds that make me want to move.
- Alt-J, An Awesome wave; super awesome album. Listened to this waaaaaay too much.
- The Death Grips, Money Store; seriously. This is an excellent album. The Fever is one of the best songs I have heard in a while.

Shows
- Stargate SG-1; I have all 10 seasons, the spin-offs, and the direct to dvd movies. Suffice to say, I like it.
- The Venture Bros.; Adult swim struck jackpot with this one. Too bad it seems to be running out of steam because I could watch Hank and Dean be ridiculous for years.
- Futurama; Sometimes I feel like Fry. But then I am sure that we all do, and that's the draw. The intelligent jokes don't hurt either.
The six things I could never do without
Science; As explained earlier, this keeps me fascinated in the world and is a constant source of wonder.

Walking into heat; the feeling you get after being inside all day and going outside during a hot summer. Fantastic.

Sense of Accomplishment; few things better than the feeling of really applying yourself and being successful.

Tile; I. Like. Tile. A lot. Like tile floors. Ceramic. Tile bathrooms. Tile counter tops. It's kinda weird.

Perspective; Being able to understand others and appreciate their viewpoint. It means you realize you're wrong sometimes, but it also is great for solidifying your viewpoints.

Sunday morning Movies; I used to work at movie theaters. Having an entire auditorium to yourself is a pleasure no one should discount, and Sunday mornings are great for that.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
If or when the singularity will come about and what that might imply.

How the internet continues to shape society.

When my next visit to San Antonio will be. For that matter, add Ft. Davis.

Who the hell would be interested in visiting the Salar de Uyuni with me.
On a typical Friday night I am
Having drinks with friends, watching movies, going to see the rangers (if it's baseball season, gotta love Friday night fireworks).
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I listened to the spice girls when I was 10.... and I still know the lyrics to Wannabe.
I’m looking for
