My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
To paraphrase Joel Hodgson: I'm not for everyone, but the right people will get me.

I'm frequently sarcastic. I'm passionate about what I believe in. I walk a fine line between idealism/optimism and cynicism/pessimism. I'm very loyal to my friends. I'm opinionated. I'm growing more anti-religion with each passing day. I recently hit my "18 years as a vegetarian" mark. I play video games and collect RPG books. I have goals and hopes and dreams and all that cliche stuff. I also have a career and an education. I have a degree in psychology and am now working at a major tech company. I like puppies and evenings by the fire and rainbows. I do not like long walks on the beach (though I'll tolerate them for you if you want to get all the sand out of everything when we're done). I don't think life is a popularity contest.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working in content creation for a tech company. Other than that whole income-generating thing, I hang out with friends, dine out, read, hit a museum or show, watch TV/movies, play video games, etc. Also try to do some writing to keep the creative juices flowing. And I've been making a point to travel more these days (hit DC, Boston, NYC, Germany, and Guatemala recently...always pondering new destinations).
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I make a lot of graphs.

Nah.

Um. Writing. Computers/internety stuff. MMOs/gaming. Making fun of bad movies.

Obscure trivia (especially pop culture related). Sending encoded messages through dental fillings. Fending off Visigoths.

Not taking questions like this seriously.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
That I'm newly human and strangely literal? I haven't bumped into myself in a while, so I dunno. I guess you'd have to ask them. Or take a survey.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
(a) Piers Anthony - Incarnations of Immortality series, David Eddings - anything pre-Althalus, Douglas Adams - Hitchhiker's Guide series, Gregory Maguire - Wicked, Terry Pratchett - Any of the Discworld stuff; plus various nonfiction books (my love of psychology & science has been rekindled, and I've been reading some neuropsych and physics books..."A Brief Tour of Human Consciousness" is wonderful), Richard Dawkins - The God Delusion & The Greatest Show on Earth, P.L. Travers- Mary Poppins series, Lewis Carroll - Alice in Wonderland & Through the Looking Glass.

(b) Clue, Monty Pythony goodness, Lord of the Rings, MST3K: The Movie, Saved, pretty much all of Gregg Araki's stuff (Doom Generation, Splendor, Totally F*****d Up), Pecker, I <3 Huckabees, Rocky Horror, SLC Punk, Ghost World, Dogma.

(c) mostly punk/ska/alternative (probably 75% or more of what I listen to falls in here; especially fond of punk/ska covers). Some random faves: Imperial Teen, Einshoch 6, Garbage, Rancid, Offspring, The Young Professionals, Toy Dolls, The Streets. Some old-school (really, really old-school; Sinatra, Peggy Lee, etc). Some classic rock (Pink Floyd, Beatles, and so on). A few recent musicals (Wicked, RENT, Avenue Q). random 'other' stuff. Not so much rap or country. Some hip hop, but really picky there.

(d) Indian food (loooooove Indian food), Ethiopian, Thai, Italian, Chinese, Mexican, Cuban, Belgian.

(e) Archer, Adventure Time, Simpsons, Futurama, American Dad, Bob's Burgers, Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Bones, Wonderfalls, Dead Like Me, Hoarders, AbFab, Red Dwarf, The IT Crowd, As Time Goes By (Britcoms in general), Doctor Who, Being Human (UK), Star Trek(s), MST3K, Rifftrax, Drawn Together, South Park, Venture Bros.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Skipping the snarky and the obvious (water, oxygen, friends, family), I'd say my dog, Indian food, TiVo, my passport, A/C, quiet time.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Life, the universe, and everything.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Same place I am every Friday night: trying to take over the world. Or possibly relaxing at home. Maybe out to eat or at a show.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
So if I posted something private here, everyone would know it. And if everyone knows it, it isn't private anymore. So shouldn't this be the "most FORMERLY private thing..."?

You're interesting. Open minded. Progressive. Able to hold a conversation. Creative. An iconoclast. Have a sense of humor. You don't plan on killing me and eating my brains.
