I am smart, flirty, and funny.
My Self-Summary
I find that an irreverent sense of humor is my greatest asset. It
is a trait that transitions through most any situation. Always by
my side, it keeps me entertained and constantly amazed by the
people around me. I can keep my cool when cashiers don’t understand
the purpose of giving them shiny coins. I can laugh when I get a
fantastic bruise from clipping a doorjamb. I can smile for days
over a poorly composed memo. I can diffuse tense situations by
heckling coworkers and clients. I can appreciate complete
diversions from the best laid plans.
While my wit and trivia recall make me a sought after participant
in dinner parties and the attendant board games, they don’t explain
the frequency with which I help my friends move. I think that this
comes about because I genuinely enjoy seeing people happy, I don't
make promises that I have no intention of keeping, I don't mind
getting messy, I commit to giving things my all, and I'm a soft
touch. I find that asking for help is almost as difficult as
refusing to help someone else. But helping others can not only be
vastly fulfilling, it can open up a whole new world of power tools.
I can organize a rental truck like a pro and refinish a hardwood
floor!
What I’m doing with my life
I'm finishing up my Ph.D. in biochemistry & genetics while
working odd jobs to keep busy until my degree comes through and I
can get a "real job". I want to spend my career in scientific
research, and eventually, run my own laboratory. I imagine that I
may branch out as I progress in my field to doing some consulting
work for private biotechs, government, and government policy.
On a personal note, I enjoy spending time with my family and
friends. I love going out to see a comedian, or listening to live
music in a small bar. I play volleyball and softball every chance I
get and am always looking for an organized league.
I’m really good at
Banter, movie quotes, amateur psychoanalysis, being helpful,
singing along to the radio, asking leading questions
The first things people usually notice about me
I smile a lot, and I'm very friendly.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I like romantic comedies and super hero movies. I read thrillers,
mysteries, and sci-fi; particularly Dean Koontz, Maryjanice
Davidson, JD Robb, Terry Goodkind, Christopher Moore and Jeffrey
Deaver. I read romance novels when I need a complete mental
vacation and I'm feeling sappy. I enjoy listening to any and all
kinds of music. I have Dean Martin, Bowling for Soup, the Office
Space soundtrack and the cast recording of Wicked in my car. I love
trying new kinds of food. I'm particularly fond of indian, italian
and chinese; but I love pierogies, chicken finger subs and gumbo
too.
The six things I could never do without
a good book, lively conversation, affection, food staples for
baking, my memory foam pillow and a copy of A&E's "Pride and
Prejudice"
I spend a lot of time thinking about
what to buy for my friends and family for their
birthdays/Christmas
unless I get a patent I'll never earn a salary that is commensurate
with the amount of schooling I've completed: so thank god I love
what I do
how it is that any man can be attractive when correctly wearing a
fedora
why I'm fascinated by a pirate accent
wondering how I can be such a science dork and so oddly cool at the
same time
On a typical Friday night I am
In recent weeks I've been working, but I'd much rather be out and
about catching a show or reading in my tub.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
When I have a really bad day I wear a sparkly tiara, once I'm at
home in private, as a pick-me-up
You should message me if
You are introspective enough to know who you are; you like and
respect that person, and appreciate those same traits in the people
you choose to spend time with. You will also need to appreciate my
strange love-hate relationship with run on sentences.
