I'm a central European who came to the US for college and after
living in 7 different cities in 3 countries on 3 continents (not
counting the home country and continent), dropped anchor in DC.
I've been in DC for the past 3.5 years and I'm happy to have
stopped extending my place-of-residence list. Despite the major
shortcoming when it comes to rocky mountains, DC--I find--has a lot
to offer. I have a pretty unique job at one of the international
organizations in the city that keeps my adventurous spirit engaged.
And for the free time, there is still enough outdoors. I'm always
up for a hike, bike ride, kayaking or a ski trip. Exploring within
has been equally satisfying lately - I've gotten quite crazy about
yoga and have spent some time on visual arts - drawing and
photography. Cooking is always great fun, too. While adventure
helps me feel alive, my family and friends are my main priority.
Despite my many moves, I am very stable when it comes to
relationships. I'm close to my family even though we live
continents apart. My best friends from high school are still my
best friends though my group of friends has definitely grown since
high school. I have a bunch of good friends in DC too who are
accomplished, ambitious, thoughtful, caring, active and fun to be
around.
I'm not sure the above does justice to who I am, it certainly
doesn't to what I'm like. Here's an attempt at what I'm like:
- I tend to be introverted when I first meet someone but get chatty
and enjoy bantering once I warm up (I was called "silent water" as
in "silent water runs deep" more than once)
- I enjoy philosophizing about life, human nature, economics (less
so about politics) but love giggling at least as much. Actually, I
think giggling is one of the best things in the world
- I value actions more than words though words can make a world of
difference at times
- I don't like drama in any form other than theater
- I was told I have a heart of gold and that I'm too humble more
than once... it feels ridiculous to write it but oh well...
- I prefer not to wear makeup on weekends and I've never had
manicure done professionally (btw, it doesn't show and hint hint:
low maintenance)
I’m looking for someone who knows himself, who knows where he’s
going and is equally happy in the moment. At the core, he’s
ambitious yet not overly competitive. He prefers to spend most of
his days actively engaged, body and mind. He cares about people
around him beyond the happy hour.
