I hail from a Mediterranean country, so despite having lived here for 10 years, I'm still more expressive of my thoughts and feelings than is the norm for England. I still like to say what I think as it is, which I admit, is not always the best thing to do. This doesn't mean to say that I haven't mastered the "English code of speech" yet, for I have. I use it mostly for deciphering what is said, and - to my horror and guilt towards my roots - I'm getting much better at using it, too. But I definitely prefer the company of people who are more direct.

I am quite a cerebral person and people find me intelligent. I used to be an engineer and now I work in finance and I admit I am a bit of a closet geek (I try to keep it under wraps).

I have an artistic streak that runs in my family and back when I had more time on my hands I was a bit of a culture vulture. I love travelling to new places, and sometimes over and over to the same old places (Istanbul and Paris I love). Sarajevo is another favourite city of mine, though I have only been there once.

I am a genuine person and looking for the similar in a person. I love having conversations with people I can share ideas and experiences with and learn something from.

What I value most in others is decency, honesty and kindness. I believe in treating others the way you would like to be treated.

I am looking to meet people who are open and intelligent with the same values, similar interests, and a bit of dry humour wouldn't hurt!

I'm managing investments for a new company that aims to democratise investing for everybody. It has been intense but lots of fun.

Listening, understanding, analysing, coming up with pragmatic solutions...On a less boring note, I am good at finding good things to do, great places to go, and delicious food to eat.

Recently I have been reading more non-fiction and enjoy Michael Lewis's books. I've just finished reading Boomerang and thought it captured the Eurozone mess brilliantly, and was so entertaining. My all time favourite fiction writers are Milan Kundera, Leo Tolstoy and Jane Austen.

I like arthouse cinema but having been a tad overworked recently I tend to go for more uplifting mainstream stuff. Favourite TV shows - Frasier and How I Met Your Mother.

Music - favourite genres classical, opera and jazz.
Food - most everything but definitely Mediterranean is my favourite cuisine.

We can all do without loads if we have to, so here are the things I love : sunshine, Hampstead Heath, strolling in the streets of London enjoying the architecture, lazy brunches out on weekends, going to exhibitions, Istanbul, laughing with friends, stimulating conversations.

Everything but sports or new age stuff.

Anything from relaxing at home to a night out with friends.
