Hi. I have a boyfriend. These days I use this account to do quizzes and such.

I tend to go through obsessive phases with things. Right now: getting in long bike rides before the weather turns sour, finishing the pile of books I've started, quinoa, cooking.

I'm into traveling. Ideally my next big trip will be to India. I love to ride my bike (I ride every day, barring severe ice or snow), write, dance, and talk politics and ideas (I'm very very left-wing). I also love to learn languages - I know enough French and Mandarin to hold a conversation, and I really want to learn Hindi and Japanese, and I can say "thank you" in about 20 different languages. I read a lot. I am inspired by strong, independent women, and I try my hardest to be one myself. I adore absurdity. I have a small black cat named Zuul. I'll try anything once.

I'm a legal secretary. I get to use Mandarin at my job (对, 我讲中文， 在 UBC 学了三年了)， which is cool.

Dream jobs: linguist, editor, translator, novelist.

Pronouncing languages, Scrabble, Balderdash, filling up my hard drive, and doing rap songs at karaoke (my specialty is Baby Got Back).

I'm a total spazz (I can be stubborn, blunt, and outspoken); I'm buxom. Probably also the red hair and the glasses.

(b) movies: Mulholland Drive, Roger & Me, Miyazaki movies, Dr. Strangelove, Rushmore, Do the Right Thing, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, The Big Lebowski, The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension. tv shows: Twin Peaks and Buffy the Vampire Slayer (Joss Whedon is God).

(c) music: Like with everything else, my music tastes go through short, obsessive phases. I also listen to indie rock, hardcore punk, psychedelia, dubstep, avant garde, noisy experimental techno, and world music. My long-time faves are 70's David Bowie, Fantômas, DJ Shadow, and Ghostface Killah.

(d) food: I've been a vegetarian for fourteen years now (it doesn't matter whether or not you are). Veggie burgers, spaghetti, garlic bread, avocados, yams, mayonnaise, eggplant, blueberries, dark chocolate, fancy cheese, tacos, mee goreng, ramen (not the instant stuff -- ramen-house ramen), fried rice, all manner of weird Chinese vegetables (lotus root, ginkgo nuts, gai choi -- fuckin' bring it on). Pretty much the only alcoholic beverages I like are beer and whiskey.

Bicycles. Sex. Moving to warmer climes. Music. Linguistics. Blogging.

Going out with friends, nerding out, dancing my ass off, riding bikes, or some combination of these things.

It would be sweet to get busy in a Burger King bathroom, because then when you were singing along, it would be true. And it's a hell of a lot easier than shooting a man in Reno just to watch him die.
