I am a travel junkie, aficionado of life, and spontanious.

My Self-Summary

Online isn't really my thing. I love the idea of being able to reach out to all the great people I know exist but never cross my path; yet I suspect sitting comfortably behind my computer isn't the way to go about it. But you never know.

I also really like some of the OK Cupid tests, and the idea of sharing your final score but none of the specific questions one answered. That's brilliant.

What I’m doing with my life

Not entirely sure at the moment. Still teaching and lecturing every now and again (ancient astronomy mostly, though a little literature and science too), some design and editing work, and a smattering of other odd jobs. I'm not sure what is coming next, or even what I want to create/do next. But I am sure I'll come up with something I'm passionate about in the next couple of months. Challenging work with enough time off to enjoy is always my goal.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books - Anna Karenina, Crime and Punishment, anything by Vonnegut, Guns Germs and Steel, The Lonely Planet Guidebooks (but the best guidebook ever was the old Berkeley on the loose travel books), and so much more Music -James Brown, Mojo Club remixes, Beatles, Funk, Jazz, Rock, Blue note rare grooves. This American Life with Ira Glass continually stuns me with its brilliance.

The six things I could never do without

Never is such a strong word. But some of the things I've done without for a while and really missed are Coffee, Hot (or at least warm) showers, Friends, Family, Sex, and Books

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Why I don't have more friends with flexible work schedules. I miss having people to hang out with during weekdays. And weekday late breakfast. I love late breakfasts.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I'm disappointed at myself for not putting something really juicy here.

You should message me if

you feel inspired. It's the internet, mine as well reach out and say hi, right?
