I am your passenger, compass, and only wish.
My Self-Summary
As a foreword, I honestly feel uncomfortable explaining myself like
this, just because it feels like some weird abstraction of reality.
Admittedly, I'm painfully shy, especially with women I'm attracted
to. The "icebreaker" of the group, I am not. But, once you open me
up, I promise it's all good and fun from there (:
I am Zach, a vegetarian musician studying music as an undergrad.
Before I was here in Manhattan, I was working as a carpenter and
decided that swinging a hammer just wasn't going to cut it. My
Father and I built our families home in upstate NY, which was
definitely the most ridiculous period of my life. I write a little
poetry, and like to think that I'm good at getting my point across,
but I'm certainly no professional writer.
I'm new to the city, haven't been here a year even, so if there's
anyone who wants to show me around, I'm game.
I'm interested in/enamored with people who are focused on what they
want, and are intent on getting it in a genuine way. I love people
who have something to say and aren't afraid of self-inflection or
interpretation.
The 'sometimes' choice under "Drugs" is about weed. I don't smoke
constantly or touch anything beyond that, but I'd be lying if I
said I didn't, and I hate lying. You dig?
If anything about me is opaque, confusing, or interesting, ask
away.
What I’m doing with my life
Studying/Performing Music
Experiencing the beautiful city surrounding me
Enjoying everything I can
Looking for someone to enjoy my time with
I’m really good at
Expressing myself and showing you the gears, what makes me
tick.
Hopefully, performing. But isn't that up to the audience?
I make a mean espresso, apparently.
The first things people usually notice about me
Probably that whole long-haired, skinny, tight jeans, musician
thing. Most people notice the hair, though.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: Atlas Shrugged, Shibumi, A Clockwork Orange, Galapagos, The
End of Faith.
Movies: A Clockwork Orange, The Big Lebowski, The Office, Office
Space, Mulholland Drive, 10 Items or Less, Kill Bill, LOTR trilogy,
WALL-E, Ghost In The Shell, The Ref, hmm... I'll add to this
later.
Music: Protest The Hero, Frederic Chopin, J.S. Bach, Carlos
Santana, Deftones, Meshuggah, Alice in Chains, Ludwig van
Beethoven, Dillinger Escape Plan, Pink Floyd, Incubus, Death Cab
for Cutie, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Imogen Heap, Between The Buried
and Me, Hot Chip, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Explosions in The Sky,
Dysrhythmia, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Arnold Schoenberg, Richard
Wagner, Béla Bartók... Point taken?
Food: Vegan/vegetarian. I mainly follow a vegan diet, but will
gladly eat milk or eggs (no flesh, yuck) from a farm that treats
it's animals with respect and care. Big bonus points if we follow a
similar diet!
The six things I could never do without
Good Coffee
Friendship
Music
Appreciation
Affection
Possibility
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Where I'm going, how I'm going to get there, what is waiting for
me.
What other people are thinking, where their rationale is rooted.
On a typical Friday night I am
Hanging out with friends, gigging, cooking, practicing.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I'll admit to anything I am, you just have to ask.
You should message me if
you like something on my profile, if you think we'll get along...
If you're fun, cute, sweet, intense, honest, not afraid of heights
or depth, and (most importantly), genuine.
Musicians, vegetarians, artists, thinkers, activists, thoughtful
cooks, and all people who are good at what they do are particularly
welcome. Like I said, I'm shy, so don't feel worried about sending
the first message. If anything, I'll probably welcome it (:
