My Self-Summary

I grew up in Boulder, moved overseas, lived in CA, and just moved back to Denver. I'm a teacher (7th grade social studies) and I try to get outdoors and play whenever possible. I'm a happy, easy going kind of person just looking for my female equivalent (though more attractive and with none of my bad qualities.)

What I’m doing with my life

During the school year I teach 7th grade social studies. In the summer I live in CA and work on the beach as a lifeguard (though I don't know how much longer I will do that).

I’m really good at

um, lots of stuff! Here is what I have been told by others I am good at: various sports, having a cool dog, being a teacher, dropping sarcastic one liners, bbq-ing... and, um, you know, stuff.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Movies- There's no fair way to list these. Sometimes I love my 80's flicks- Top Gun, Teen Wolf, Christmas Vacation, Three Amigos, etc. (I really like Chevy Chase, by the way). Sometimes I like movies like City of God, Constant Gardener and Slumdog Millionaire. And, sometimes I just go for that flick that I want to quote the whole night (which is usually from some former SNL comedian, but not Tim Meadows).

Music- Red Hot Chili Peppers are far and away my favorite band. Some others that make my top 10 would include the Beatles, Jack Johnson, Tom Petty, White Stripes, Paul Simon, Guns N Roses, etc. I am finding a lot of Indie rock too.

Books- I am a real sucker for 'rockumentaries'.

Food- Mexican. I love it. Can't get enough of it. Fish Tacos are possibly the greatest food ever devised. Sushi is also pretty awesome.

The six things I could never do without

1 My dog-Love of my life.
2. Exercise
3. Water. Not just for drinking. Swimming, surfing, freezing it and sliding on, etc.
4. Fish Tacos.
5. My IPOD
6. My bed

I spend a lot of time thinking about

On a typical Friday night I am

Doing something pretty awesome. What this is changes, but it likely involves some beers, my friends, music and possibly something stupid. It usually ends with me convinced that I can get up early and go do something productive, which of course is a lie.
