Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hi! I'm Rachel!
I'm open-minded but particular; intense but chill; indulgent but
simple; cheery but cynical; and passionate but practical. And all
in the right measure...mostly.
I enjoy people who are direct, sincere, considerate, ambitious, and
who like to do stuff. As a fairly bold and ambitious woman, nothing
is more attractive to me than a man who likes to call the shots,
make the plans, and be the driver.
I currently live in Silver Spring and work in Arlington. I put
Arlington as my residence given that with my work schedule it's
lightyears easier to date someone in VA or DC than in MD.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I wish I knew! Career is good but I'm admittedly a workaholic. I
work in sales for an education research firm; it can be intense but
I'm intense so it all works out. I get to travel just about
whenever/wherever I want to meet with school districts across the
country - pretty cool! So far this year my job has taken me to San
Francisco twice, LA, San Diego, and Boston. No complaints! I have
conveniently combined most trips with swing dance conventions (I
travel and compete in about 15 dance comps per year, but it's cool
if you have two left feet).
Everything in my life is fast-paced but the goal has been to chill
out a little bit this year (so far it's the only goal I've
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
My job, small talk, diffusing awkward situations, and any natural
inclinations of type-A personalities.
I'm pretty good at dancing - at least to the non-trained eye ;-)
The judges might say I've still got quite a bit to work on...
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
"To whom is she talking?' - Anyone observing me typing. I tend to
enunciate everything I type. This can be awkward on airplanes (and
just about anywhere in public).
Side note: Unfortunately, I doubt everyone is correctly thinking
"whom" or placing "to" at the beginning of the phrase as not to end
in a preposition ;-)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: Middlesex, White Oleander,The Challenger Sale (props if you
know what this is), Lean In, Blink, Freakenomics
Movies: Titanic - and I'm only half kidding. Recently saw The
Intern and Trainwreck - both were quite a good laugh.
Shows - OITNB, Friday Night Lights
Music - This changes all the time because I generally listen to the
latest music I can dance to (i.e. is in 4-4 time and frequently
played on the competitive dance circuit). Sick beatz, yo...
Food - I'll try almost anything, but I never go wrong with Asian
cuisine. Sushi, pho, Thai, bubble tea, froyo with exotic fruit
toppings - the list goes on. Can you guess my favorite fruit?
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. Toothbrush (or anything that maintains personal hygiene)
2. My second monitor
3. My Little BooBoo (a French Bulldog named Sebastian that belongs
to my roommate but which I consider my own, minus having the
responsibilities of down ownership)
4. Delicious food
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
"Tonight, I'm going to bed early..." (never happens)
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I thought "DTF" meant "date this Friday"

You won't feel emasculated by having the same pet names as my

Other preferences: you are active, athletic, snarky, ambitious,
progressive-minded...and, you are a nice guy without being too much
of a "nice guy" ;-)
