My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hi hello! I'm Chris! I like exclamation points and hate stereotypes and insincerity. I am tired of that noise. I'm awesome, you're awesome; I refuse to be pigeonholed by society's expectations.

Now here's a little about myself in handy bullet point format:
-I like people, I like talking to them and hearing their stories and having them teach me new things.
-I'm introvert who has managed to fool everyone into thinking that I'm an extrovert.
-I think gender binaries are bullshit; I buy myself flowers, watch shows about cars, consider myself a feminist.
-I help manage a site that lists nerdy events happening in Portland:
-If you take stock in such things I'm apparently an INTP. I used to be an INFJ but I think I've been slowly shifting as I've gotten older.
-Sometimes I flail like Kermit when I get excited, especially when there's a puppy involved:
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Returning to the land of gloom and cheap tasty beer, yuuuuuus.

I also help make websites or something. Sometimes I'm not even sure what my job title means.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Buying journals and never using them them, losing chapstick, remembering where I put things (expect for the aforementioned chapstick), baking on short notice, boiling down important details about myself into small easy to digest blocks of text.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My excessive use of exclamation points! My hair, it is very curly and usually has a mind of its own. Whatever silly/cute/funny t-shirt I'm wearing (I have a lot of them). People have told me I have pretty good eyes. One of my coworkers recently described me as "intense"; I'm not sure if that was a compliment or not.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: Every time I move I regret just how many books I own. Here's an overview: I like Sci-fi; Douglas Adams, Terry Pratchett, John Scalzi, and Neil Gaiman. I've also been known to enjoy some YA novels from time to time; Dystopian Futures are always fun, things by Scott Westerfeld, John Green, and quite a few others. I also like things that are not these categories but this list could go on and on.

Shows: TOO MANY. Let's see lots of nerdy things, 70s-90s detective shows, 60s british shows, Doctor Who, Discovery/Science channel, Battlestar Galactica, Arrested Development, Orphan Black, Sherlock, House of Cards, MacGyver, Seinfeld, Firefly, MST3K, Twilight Zone, Top Gear, Adventure Time, Legend of Korra, Justified, How It's get the point.

Movies: Far too many as well, but a few standouts off the top of my head are Groundhog Day, Wall-E, Clue, Cool Hand Luke, Run Lola Run, Moon.

Music: I tend to jump around based on my mood, but here's a random sample: Amanda Palmer, Nickel Creek, Sufjan Stevens, The Long Winters, Andrew Bird, Fleet Foxes, Abney Park, The Decemberists, Marian Call, Caravan Palace.

Food: Anything with avocado, Mexican, Mediterranean, Indian, sushi, anything I've never tried before. I like my food to be an adventure.

Board Games: I like playing board games a lot, for more information see:
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
The sound of rain, also the smell of it (also known as petrichor)
A camera
Whimsy (You should never take whimsy for granted.)
Coffee (I maybe might just possibly have a problem.)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Puppies, good design, new tasty things I can cook, where I want to run off to next, how I can justify getting a pet, projects I will probably start and never finish.

I also spend a lot of time watching people and trying to figure out their stories, or usually just making up stories about them.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
It depends, usually one or more of these things: out with friends, drinking a beer, playing boards games, having a quiet night in with a good movie or a video game, cooking an elaborate dinner, going bouldering, playing more board games, hiking, working on some new project.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I only have one testicle and sometimes I refer to it as George and his magic wand...I see what I did there.

I want to be Rory Gilmore when I grow up but I mean like who doesn't?

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You actually want to meet, I'm pretty busy and prefer to get to know people in person. I also spend a lot of time in front of a computer for work so I greatly value in person human interactions.

Any of the following would be great, or none.
-You can tell a good story.
-You can recommend new music, I've been on a new music binge lately.
-You make things or can play an instrument or are creative in someway. I like creative people. A lot.
-You would like to drink some coffee or beer together and enjoy some form of live entertainment.
-You would like to play a board game together.
-You want to look at my viewmaster collection. That's not a euphemism, it's just really nerdy.
-This fills your heart with happiness:
-Something about my profile piqued your curiosity.
-You like the word piqued as much as I do.
-You're honest/upfront. I hate bullshit and I try to be as direct as I can be. It's a trait I greatly value in others.
-You want to cosplay as Fionna and Prince Gumball with me.
