My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I hope to be head over heels and land on my feet, with an active, thoughtful, interested and interesting woman, sporting a welcoming smile, in an affectionate, supportive and playful relationship. I am still a romantic. I am looking for a partner to share coming adventures, the city attractions, and moments at home for the coming years.

I moved back to Marin last December. I grew up here and migrated East after college. I wanted to live close to my sister and nephew and succumbed to the realization that I really enjoy the Bay Area and the people I meet here. I am very happy with the move, enjoying new friends, biking, and the many attractions here.

Others find me to be cheerful, intelligent, thoughtful, relaxed, playful and attentive. I am open-minded, liberal yet a pragmatist. I believe in challenging myself, look to find the bright side, and have learned from my experiences along the way. I fly along well below my age, fit and trim. I am easy to be with, listen, always hoping we understand each other first without needing to be right, and work toward mutual satisfaction.

I enjoy dancing. Swing, ballroom, (Have tux. Will travel), though Argentine Tango is my favorite. I sail. I race my sailboat but also like day sailing and look forward to cruising, staying overnight in pleasant anchorages, and chartering sailboats in foreign waters.

Otherwise, since arriving here, I enjoyed a camping trip to Big Sur, checked out community theatres, films, museums, hiking on Mt. Tam., golf, skiing, and other outdoor pursuits. I bike the Tiburon Loop from my house several times a week. A great golf swing is on My List, hence lessons. I have been back to Holland and enjoy travel. I like good food and cooking with a friend. Ultimately, it’s about sharing and making a life together.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Fixing my house and garden, planning on working part time, making friends, thinking about the next phase of my life. This includes being involved in volunteer or community group projects, in contrast to the solo nature of my profession. Learning Spanish.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Listening, putting others at ease.

Books: History, Martin Cruz Smith, John Updike, Alice Monro, Wallace Stegner, Alice McDermott, Anna Quinlan. Just now I am reading biographies of Ben Franklin and John Adams simultaneously, with of course their view of each other.
I still like holding a newspaper..New York Times or The Economist
I like classical music, blues, big band sounds, tango to dance. I like Cole Porter songs, Nat Cole, Eva Cassidy, and there is a Diana Krall CD that seems to stay in the player.
I like indie and foreign films; I check out old movies from the library. I have binged on past seasons of Mad Men, the British version of House of Cards, Downton Abbey
I like almost any cuisine, but draw the line at okra. The food in the Bay Area is great, whether from the stores or in restaurants.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Six things on an Island? Never? I do look forward to morning coffee when I go to bed at night. Music, books, art, good food. Friends and family. A chess set for mental challenge.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.

I am out dancing at a favorite milonga every Friday. Other nights I have been to the Marin symphony, community theatre, a walk along the ridge at dusk, out to dinner.
