My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a new home owner, an "aspiring" banjo player, I know how to make a tasty cocktail and set a nice table. I'm funny and goofy but somehow super serious at times too. I'd rather go on a hike or to a museum than see a sporting event, I prefer yoga to the gym and I may not be able to chat about what was on TV last night but, if you heard that thing on NPR we can talk about that instead.

I spent a long time in CA and think in many ways I became the person I am while I was there. It helped me to see the world in an open minded way, to accept others, other cultures and points of view.

Art, design, performance, architecture, film and music are all important to me. I'm a sucker for long lasting head rubs, home made baked goods and a day in the park.

Being involved in my community is important; as is being conscientious and ecological, and socially minded.....and ice cream, that's important too. In the words of Ralph Nader, "Are you being a citizen"? Or as my Uncle Andy likes to say, " I think I'll have some more ice cream."
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I just bought a little house so what I'm doing with my life is making it mine, coming up with design plans, sitting in my new window seat and learning about quality snow shovels.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Plenty of things and then again I'm not so hot at plenty of stuff too. I'm a good cook, pretty good at getting a ton of stuff done and being super productive, as well as sitting around, relaxing and watching the clouds pass by. I'm good at connecting people, openly communicating and hosting dinner parties...oh and I'm good at keeping a very tidy home......does that count for anything?
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm not sure what people notice about me, they often describe me as tall. But, being only 6' it always strikes me as a bit odd. I mean, I don't think of myself as tall.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
MY FAVORITE BOOK of all times might be A Tree at Night and Other Stories by Capote or Cold Mountain, or anything by Jon Krakauer or ... well, it's hard to determine favorites. I do read a lot and think the public library is the greatest thing Ben Franklin ever created.

MY FAVORITE MOVIE is also hard to say. I actually watch a lot of films and tend toward the indie variety, with not much interest in Hollywood blockbusters. Documentaries might be my favorite.

MY FAVORITE MUSIC I use to REALLY be into bluegrass and still enjoy it, but in the age of Pandora I can't say I have bought music in a long time. My stations usually include Bon Iver, Fleet Foxes, Or The Wale, some sort of funky jazz; its a mix but usually a tad on the mellow side. In my stereo there might be some groovy Fleetwood Mac, or some J.D. Crowe, maybe the sweet sounds of The Be Good Tanyas or Jolie Holland (who I actually rode in a car with once) possibly a mix called Euro Lounge. So, if you can figure out my favorite music please let me know.

MY FAVORITE FOOD is good Mexican food, which I used to eat a lot more of when I lived in CA where it is plentiful. My other favorite food is the kind that I make in my kitchen. I cook all the time, it's an important part of my life to eat well.

MY FAVORITE SOCKS are new ones that are sort of snazzy with a horizontal stripe...oh but actually a vertical stripe would be nice too.

MY FAVORITE MAGAZINE is DWELL, I could just page through it for days on end.

MY FAVORITE JUICE is orange juice; ohhh what is better than sweet tasty fresh OJ? Apple cider comes in a very close second.
The six things I could never do without

I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Things I'd like to make, design and build. I'm always in my head with inspirations and ideas, schemeing about the next great adventure, lamp or piece of serving ware I'd like to create. In fact, I just made one...well sort of. Also, I have been thinking about the right color gray. Please help!
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Hatching a plan for a night of food and laughs.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I spend too much time thinking about the color gray.

You want to be my wing-woman, stunt double or assistant trapeze artist, you find your interest piqued, you can teach me how the heck to use my new T5i camera or you think you might want to poke through my new book shelves.

Also PLEASE note, I hope you're not afraid of talking on the phone. I really prefer to chat on the phone before meeting in person. I know it's so very 90's of me but, I just think it's a darn good idea.
