My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hi! I'm Tom. A proud Novocastrian living in Sydney. My job has loftily been called "banking technologist" - let's run with it. I'm a sensitive, introspective type but I refuse to let that put me in a box - I love people, I love to talk and I live to know what's happening too! I think that life is incredibly exciting and I'd love to find somebody I can share that with.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Exploring! I've got most of the foundations out of the way - a stable and rewarding job and a place to call home - so from here on in its all about building rewarding relationships with the people around me.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Technology. Analysing things (sometimes thinking too hard). Achieving. Talking about feelings. Forming deep friendships with people.

Sometimes I get really carried away with the English language.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
According to one of my best mates, a "British accent". This is worrying because I don't have one. Other than that... hopefully that I'm a thoughtful and considerate guy and that I like to think things through, but I also think they see a bit of playfulness there too. In a subtle way. I'm a great believer in subtlety.

George RR Martin. Before he was popular, got to say. Plus other fantasy of that ilk like Stephen Donaldson (it's got to be well-written, I'm picky). Tim Harford, who is an economist but writes about economics in an awesome way. Absolute legend. Iain Banks, who writes some very cool, deep psychological books with really interesting characters. Like a bit of crime fiction too.

Love live theatre. Musicals especially. All of them I've even seen. Most particularly The Book of Mormon. Most awesome form of entertainment ever invented. Like to watch comedy series from the UK (Brittas Empire, Red Dwarf, etc) and will have to mention the likes of 30 Rock, I find myself more impressed with Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin that I could have anticipated. (Oh, and the guy who plays Kenneth. Brilliant!) Shaun Micallef, if you've ever seen his earlier stuff especially, is just brilliant.

I don't really like listing music, it changes so often. Although, if it has a fast tempo and synthesisers I guarantee I'll like it!

Food, well... I like food. As long as it's good!
